[Dx4win] Lost Key

2012-01-07 Thread Roger Huntley
I had Version 8.04 which was working great. In December I uploaded ADIF
file to LOTW. After upload I installed new computer hard drive. When trying
to open program from desktop link it said could not find file. I downloaded
V 8.05 and it will open however in the demo mode. I saved existing V8.04
saved files to new V8.05 files and the log is there however I can not find
the existing key it is asking for.

If I merge the new file with the old one will I get duplicate QSO's ?

Where should the key be located?

How do I get a new key?

Thanks for any assistance. Hate to think I might loose over 60 years of
QSO's.

[Dx4win] Upgrade Question

2003-02-03 Thread Roger Huntley
I am new to the program and am having trouble trying to get the upgrade to
open. I received the key from Paul and copied it into the existing file
folder, however I am unable to figure out how to get the upgrade to open up
as version 6.01. Checking the manual does not really explain the actions
required. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Roger, W7VV

[Dx4win] QSL Labels and Avery 8160 Labels

2003-01-04 Thread Roger Huntley
Jeff,
I also use Avery 8160 and found that I had to modify the settings. Under
the custom label setting I set the "spacing left" to 0.2, "spacing top" to
0.65, "horizontal shift" to 0.1 and the "vertical shift" to 0.1. I am using
Arial font. Without the shifting I was getting the printing cut off on the
left side and top of the labels in the third row. I am also new to using
the program and there may be other ways to adjust the printing but this
seems to work for me.

I only use two QSO's per label and I would think you could probably adjust
the offsets to get three QSO's per label.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [Dx4win] QSL Labels and Avery 8160 Labels

After getting all my recent PJ2/K8ND 160m QSOs imported to
DX4WIN, I'm printing QSL info labels for the first time. I am
using DX4WIN with a HP Deskjet 990Cse printer and Avery
8160 labels.

I'm having a problem that doesn't seem specifically related to
DX4WIN, but to something else in setting up for these labels.
Perhaps someone can share similar experiences and
solutions?

>From Word (Office 2000) or DX4WIN, the labels do not align
with the labels on the sheet. The first is off (too far down by 1/4-inch
or so), but they *all* seem spaced incorrectly relative to each
other, as if the 8160 template were wrong in both Word 2000
*and* DX4WIN (I know - unlikely). Even if the first label were
aligned correctly, each subsequent rows would "walk" down,
with each label starting lower in the label space.

There could be some misconfiguration of the printer, but I
would think that this should be handled by the printer driver
based on the template rather than requiring any kind of
manual setup?

Any ideas?

[Dx4win] 30 Mtr SSB Alerts

2003-03-21 Thread Roger Huntley
HI Guys,

I have a simple question that I am sure is just an operator error, but I do
not know how to correct the error!!

After I upgraded, I now receive DX alerts on 30 Mtrs as SSB alerts. When I
click on them the radio automatically goes to the correct frequency as it
should however when I try to change the SSB to CW in the QSO mode window it
will not let me do it. What control have I set incorrectly?
Thanks for your continuing support,

Roger, W7VV

[Dx4win] ZZK1/N DX Spot

2003-11-12 Thread Roger Huntley
ZK1/AC4LN is currently operating from the North Cook. The default for his
call in DX4Win is South Cook or /S. I know how to change reference in the
main logging window to get it inputted correctly for my log but when you
spot him on the DX Cluster it defaults to /S instead of /N. Any idea as to
how to change this? You will notice several spots showing him as /S.
Thanks,
Roger, W7VV

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

OK, I'll look for that. I thought that might be it,
but couldn't figure it out for sure at the late hour.

It makes sense. I'll do an Excel spin through it
to see COUNT for interesting combinations.

[Dx4win] North Cook Is. - Tnx

2005-04-04 Thread Roger Huntley
Hi Gary,

As soon as the sun spot cycle gets a little better we will go back to
Manhiki, N.C..
A wonderful place to play from with beautiful hosts. We were there in 2001
and 2002.

[Dx4win] Wrong Mode Displayed

2013-10-16 Thread Roger Huntley
Upon clicking on a 30 Mtr spot my program has suddenly started showing the
contact as a SSB contact in background mode with no way of changing it to a
CW QSO. Using a K3 with the proper mode showing on it.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
