[Dx4win] minor update suggestion
GM I currently use the "DX Spots (sorted by time) window" showing the cokors set for the WAZ award. This works fine, except whenever the program restarts, the colors revert back to the DXCC setting, rather than the WAZ setting. Re: [Dx4win] I quit
With all the talk of a new version, here is my two cents worth.! I have been a DX4WIn user since version 1.07. Met Paul at Dayton when he was working with Steve. (Already was a user at that point). I was always one of the first to buy every major update, and recommended the program to many, many other hams over the years who also became loyal users. I am tired of promises with no specifics. I am finally looking for another program to switch to! Statements that a new update is coming, and is now in Beta testing etc. is just more vapor-ware as far as I am concerned. This testing could take weeks (already has) or years ( probably will if perfection is wanted)), At this point I am considering all of the major log programs. I would like to be able to enjoy using the program while I am still on the green side of the grass. de Vic, N5YY __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] Ver 8.05 and Green Heron rotor controller
The menu you keep referring to is not part of the automatic control. Before you get to that menu, from the QSO window, put the mouse cursor over rotor and click. This brings up the rotor sub menu. Now CLICK ON SHORT PATH and the rotor rotates to the station in the call sign window via short path. The menu you refer to does not get populated from the qso data. It is for manual control. de Vic, N5YY Maybe I can explain this a bit clearer. When I click on a spot in the Packet field of DX4Win Ver 8.05 it populates the logging field with CALL, MODE, BAND and also the Beam Heading of the station automatically. HOWEVER, nothing happens at all in the DX4Win ROTOR TAB section where the Band Info and Beam Headings stay at the defaults of 160 meters DISABLED and 0 degrees. I have enabled the Bands of 40-6 meters to be rotor controlled (set to NORMAL in the Window) in the ROTOR Tab section of DX4Win. I have set the port to the directly connected port of Com2 and I set the port speed to 4800 8-N-1 per suggestion from Green Heron. I can manually plug in beam heading info or change the Band to an enabled rotor band in the ROTOR Tab section and manually cause the rotor to turn ok but shouldnt DX4Win populate the fields from the spot I clicked on? Maybe thats a bit better explanation. Thanks for any help... maybe someone can at least verify that the ROTOR Tab does get populated from the spot window when clicking on a specific station. __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Rig file for the Yaesu FT 950
Guy, This change made no difference. Jim, Again, for everybodys' information, I am using FT-9000 V31. Under preferences, baud rate is 4800, poll rate 5000, DTR and CTS both checked. The FT-950 is working except for the panorama function. Spots go to the radio properly when the spot is clicked on in the spot window (including split freq spots), and the progran reads the freq properly from the radio and puts it into the logbook. Sending spots also seems OK. The problem with the panorama function is the S meter is pegged at max as the freq is scanned. At the end of the evening DX4WIN only showed 15M SSB, no mater what band, mode, or VFO combination I tried. I had to correct several QSO's by memory, that all were logged as 15M-SSB. It got fixed by turning the rig and computer off, then back on again. Anyone else seen this? DX4WIN or FT-920 problem? [Dx4win] No System Beep
Try turning on the Packet Cluster Beep command. Type Set/beep to turn it on, or Set/nobeep to turn it off. Additionally, the use bell command in DX4WIN packet 1 preferences must be checked. de Vic, AE5DX Logging and station control at AE5DX is accomplished using DX4WIN, version 5.03 - Original Message - From: KC4ALG J Sartain [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Tuesday, January 01, 2002 9:11 PM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] No System Beep I have checked my preferences settings, sent commands to the cluster I log onto, gotten advice over the reflector, and even burned ashes to read over tea leaves. Nothing I have tried in the last few weeks has restored the beep that used to come with each DX spot. All I can figure out is that maybe a cluster or windows update somewhere along the line has stopped it. My system beep stopped working. Wonder if anyone can suggest what to look at to get my system beep back the one that notifies you that a new band/mode country has been spotted. It used to work, then just disappeared not sure what I might have done to make it stop working. I have system beep selected under Packet 1 in Preferences, but no joy. Things work just fine if I select CW announce, call (voice notification), etc. but not when system beep is selected. When it worked it used to produce a noise like ding.wav.
