[Dx4win] Wait for upgrade
Hi I'm still waiting to upgrade to 7.01.I see comments of bugs in the new version. But I don see any reaction for bugs from the programmer to the group! Have to wait another year or 2 for a new upgrade and pay again ? Look at N1MM contest software.Free and if a bug is found they try to have a fix very quickly. I have now Winkey (ASCII CW KEYER) for my rigs but asked to import in dx4win but got not even a reaction. I like Dx4win but a quicker response from the programmer to the reflector would that be nice and also a good advertisement for this program ! Marc on4ma

I have the same problem. Most of the 35K QSOs in my DX4Win database are imports from CT, TR and Writelog contest logs. For CT and TR I use logconvert to convert to ADIF. For Writelog I used its own ADIF generation function. Then I import the ADIF using DX4W. Most of the resulting records have loads of extraneous info in the Notes for This Call field. Much of it never appeared in any field of the original logs. It must be coming from some kind of global database that DX4Win sucks in without provocation. I've asked before on this reflector but never received a coherent response. Since all I use DX4Win for is replying to received QSLs, it works for me. But it seems to be useless as a general logger because of all this random garbage it keeps jamming in that field. I wanted to use it as my daily logger but I've fallen back to Writelog for that. 73, /Rick N6XI On 5/9/05, Dick Flanagan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > DX4WIN 6.04: > > I have recently noted that some of my Notes For This Call fields are being > modified without any input from me. > > For example, on one QSO I put the Op's name in the field and somehow "Juan" > has now become "Juan/Juan." > > If that isn't interesting enough, I have three QSOs from one particular > station where the Notes For This Call field now contains > "Yul/Yul/Yul/Yul." Right now the behhaviour is completely different, as I just get the announcements that have been already received, and upo receival of new ones the window does not get updated. Is there anyone that can help on this? I tried contacting the support, but did not get any answer in two weeks now. regards Matteo iz2eeq ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

My log would be 566 pages, and I do not intend to print it in one go (my printer would not like to work so hard at once ...) [Dx4win] Help again
Dick, I very good advise is to make backups from your log on a regular basis ( I do weekly or direct after a newone worked) doing this will help you a lot.Imagine you have a HD crash !! Make first a copy of your log file and some others dxw4in.cty and .cfg and normaly dx4win.ini (this file help you a lot with all your info for the preferences setup) First you have to unzip the zip file you have in your download folder, unzip it in a temp folder If I remember good ,you get 2 files after unzipping. Start with the .exe.This will install DX4WIN 5.03. you have to enter your registration code and vica versa or if you have the .ini file you can merge it in preferences. now open your log to export your log you go to File/import- export /click on adif go to file/export and give it a name.
