Re: [Dx4win] DX spotting using CCUser
I am not a CCUser user so afraid I cannot address that issue. However, you might take note of the fact that US callsign numbers have little if any bearing on where the station is located any more. Since hams are no longer required to change their callsign to the district they live in no required to sign portable and can apply for a vanity call with most any number they desire, it is pretty much a crap shoot trying to use a callsign to identify an area of the country. Good luck in solving your CCUser issues. You must connect to the CC User program directly, the DX4WIN entry is called Local. If you are using SH/DX, then that is bypassing all your filter settings. You must use SH/MYDX which will obey those filter settings. -- Jim Reisert AD1C,, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DX Spotting Window
Bud, When you say pressing INS doesn't do anything, does it not stop the display or does it not even display (HOLDING) at the top of the DX stop window? While sorting by priority (as others have suggested), I use hold myself all the time and know it can be frustrating. Couple of things come to mind: First, if you've got more than one Insert key on your keyboard, try the other one (if you haven't done so already). Try pressing the NumLock key and see if Insert works. Actually, you could probably see if it's the Insert key itself by going into anything where you can edit text on your computer and see if the Ins key is functioning properly at all. You could try to unplug/replug the keyboard, or, when all else fails, try rebooting your computer (if you haven't done those thing yet either.) Thanks to all who replied. The INS key on the NumLock pad did not work. However, the INSERT key in a separate key group on the keyboard did work. Paul F6EXV and Ian G4IIY both said to sort by priority. That was the main help. It eliminated having to scroll thru the DX Spotting window. It put what I was looking for at the bottom of the window. 73, Bud W3LL __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DX Spotting Window
Have you tried the various options within the 'Sort' menu (by right clicking on the DX Spot window)? You could sort by priority so that any blue/red... spots are shown at the top of the Window, or (as I do) Sort by frequency, which makes it easier to see them on each band. Or you could deselect any Black/Grey spots altogether within the Packet 1 options under Preferences. 73, Ian G4IIY -Original Message- From: DX4WIN [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Bud Governale Sent: 19 October 2014 21:15 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] DX Spotting Window How to freeze the DX Spotting window? [Dx4win] DX Spotting Window
Hi, Is there anyway to stop the DX window from updating by overwriting itself, as the same called out spot come in??? I would like to see ALL the spots on the DX screen, with all the comments like the RTTY window lists them as the spots come in. This would let me have one color screen to focus on, and follow the DX, splits, patterns ect. Thanks. Bernie/WO2N. It was making me nuts seeing a spot come in, then its gone!

[Dx4win] DX SPOTTING PATTERNS
For the past year or so when I spot DX on the Packet Window they do not transfer to the DX Spots by time window. Years ago it worked fine. John, K2CIB offered help saying his preferences are not set to display band/mode but his still disappears too. I'm set for Band/Mode/Call. Now if I do TE1ST and the frequency etc. it works OK, i.e. it transfers and stays on the spot window. I am (still) running Ver. 4.05 and on page 23 of the book it says the last pattern in Packet 2 is the pattern as transmitted to the cluster. After re reading the paragraph it looks as if the first 2 lines as coming from the cluster and line four as transmitted to the cluster which I assume is the line in question(?). The only line I am clear on is 3, which is for WWV which I do not mess with. (I have an Atomic Clock program!) I have never touched any of the default commands. Here is my line up. . Can any one tell me if this is correct? Could a stray byte changed something at some point?
