If I do some SL updating, I simply copy it back... Less chance of an error. Thanks Mel I've learned a hard lesson. Looks like I lost 48 hours worth of QSO's because I logged in QSL's on the office computer which updated the station machine with an earlier copy. Before I just copied the n2la.dxl file over the network to the office machine but made _all_ changes on the station machine - I'll do that in the future. The only reason I did it is so spots would be updated with the latest log information. But I now see it's just too dangereous to use the station log in the office computer over the network because a single mis-step would cause the station computer to get a stale update. Never again! Rune, Although I only run DX4WIN on one computer in my house, but I can connect to that Ham Shack computer from anywhere - from other computers in the house or from across the Internet. On the Ham Shack computer, I enabled the Remote Desktop feature of Windows XP. You can access DX4Win over a network share... easiest way is install it on 2 computers and access the log via the network... Hi Rune, Yes presently I load DX4win in my main computer in the shack but now in the summer I operate out at the garden, with a laptop and wireless network, my Logfile is at the main computer, no problems at all. Many DX4win users load DX4win in two or several computers. Maybe you want a DX Alert. but I don't think wife's likes this at night! good for 6M opening. It works fine... But DON'T try to use it as a multi user program...
