Re: [Dx4win] Lost QSOs

2023-01-27 Thread John, K9EL
Joe - did you set up a secondary backup? Under preferences, then QSO tab,
there is a place to enter a secondary backup directory. Assuming you did
that, you might find the log data there. Also log for a copy of your log file
name with “.~XL”

If the QSOs were FT8, then those Q’s will still be in your FT8 software.

Hello Joe,

Look for a k1jb.~xl file in the same directory where you store your k1jb.dxl
log file. This is an automatic backup that the program makes from time to
time. Re-name it something like TEMP.DXL, open it and see if it has the
missing QSOs. If it does, you can simply import them into your regular log
file.

After working several stations this morning around 10:30 am EST, I stupidly
answered NO to the question, "(LOG) was modified, save log to disk?" First
time I've done that in over twenty years! Those QSOs appear to be gone. Is
there any way to get them back? I'm using version 8.05.

And for the future, is there any way to automatically save the log to disk
when I exit?

Thanks for the help.
