Re: [Dx4win] Side Tone Keyer
It's a reminder of how log D4W has been around. There are still a few artifacts of an earlier age in the way D4W works. It reminds me of the first time I saw a PC with sound. I was very impressed... it was an Apple! Must have been in the early nineties which is probably when Paul wrote the CW routine ;-) wo2n wrote: I'm waiting 9 years for the CW Announce via outside speakers. 73 de Bernie/WO2N. - Original Message - From: Mel ve...@videotron.ca To: Jim Reisert AD1C jjreis...@alum.mit.edu Cc: DX4WIN Reflector dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Friday, December 11, 2009 2:21 PM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Side Tone Keyer DX4Win generates the CW using the PC Speaker in the computer enclosure. If you are not hearing the CW your PC speaker may not be connected... or perhaps your PC doesn't even have one. I have suggested to Paul (a long time ago) that he consider supporting CW through the sound card. I imagine it's somewhere on his todo list... Jim Reisert AD1C wrote: Not sure how this works, Hugh.
