It makes sense to me.

The article is a little old - November 1998. I sent Jay a note
suggesting an update, and to cover the E-Dinar and Standard
Reserve's goals to distribute worldwide very quickly. I'll keep you posted.

Hello Elwyn,

Assuming a certificate was given to me as a present, what
do I do to cash it in? And, is PayPal the only way of buying it?

Hi Bob:

Some clarification on the gold certificates:

At present, you can also purchase from Eric Gather at Gaithman's
E-gold Exchange, Inc. He will have a page up today describing
the certificate and payment options. And World Currency Trader
also accepts checks by fax and other means, which will be at the
site this week. If you do want to purchase from WCT now, send a
note to Elwyn Jenkins at [EMAIL PROTECTED] I've used
checks by fax (or e-mail) for four years, and it works
wonderfully. I have received as much as $50,000 in one check by fax.

BTW, any Standard Reserve market maker can sell the SR Gold
Certificates. All you need to do is have them available on your
site. This week we start a major PR campaign with the Gold
Certificates. We are sending out a press release to 2,387 media
contacts throughout the US and Europe. Then we will do another
400 through Asia and Australia. We are also sponsoring some
discussion lists promoting the certificates. Right now we can
only direct them to Gaithman and WCT.

And we have a team adding merchants where SR gold can be
spent. They will be on board in time for folks to use the gold
certificates. We have some B2B sites on board, and are now working on malls.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

George

as likely being a scam. I have recrently invested from my E-Gold account

any follow-through on their part. Perhaps I was a fool, but I didn't
find the scam-alert on MLB until after I had sent them my e-gold. Has
anyone else on the e-gold list had any experience with MLB, specifically
a positive experience where you got a working off-shore account without
losing your money? They have been unresponsive once they got my money,
except to help arrange other ways of getting more money. I am supposedly
in a waiting period to receive from them my Visa Debit Card associated
with this Checking Account. If they follow through, I shall report such
back to the e-gold list, otherwise I may have been scammed of the
minimum account opening $1000, actually in my case I sent my e-gold
account number $1023.72.

What do you mean by:
"The holders of the cards will be treated as "employees" of

What are the legal implications of being that company's employee?
I wish to get a card, but am unwilling to give up my sovereign rights to
do so... what is the employment contract with this company? What are the
laws governing employees of a company incorporated in that jurisdiction?

We will have one shortly for Standard Reserve Gold (backed by
e-Gold). We have our bank identification number (BIN) and are
now awaiting some final details with the card itself. We expect
it to be live in December. It will not be a corporate card as
described by other card programs. Rather it is a real pin-based
debit card accessible anywhere in the world.

It will be part of a total program providing payment processing
for consumers and businesses in the retail supply chain. We will
also have micro payment processing.

You can apply for a NetAnywhere account and you will be notified
when the InstantAnywhere account goes live. BTW, market makers
can share in the revenue of these debit card accounts and
others. http://www.standardreserve.com

[e-gold-list] Growth, The Gold Economy

2000-11-14 Thread Khurram Khan

Just some thoughts,

All those interested in the growth of The Gold Economy, should seriously look into
putting excess capital into savings and loan institutions such as Metal Savings, or
any others functioning in a similar manner.

The Economy can only grow when there is capital available for existing businesses to
invest, or for entrepenuers to start up. Capital is available when people put funds
away in savings.

   Good Luck

[e-gold-list] Re: Gold Funded Debit Cards Available

2000-11-14 Thread Glencannon Group Ltd.

Your status as an "employee" will only apply to the bank, which will give
the company the ability to offer these cards at a rather significant
discount. There will be no contract, and thus no status as an employee.
The card's are designated as "employee" cards to the effect that they will
have the name of the company on them. That is all.

Does anyone want to answer this one? I believe the correct answer is no to
the extent that e-gold does not provide such services. To the extent that I
am providing such a service, then it is possible to get debit card that can
be funded by e-gold.

[e-gold-list] www.exchangepath.com: a safer alternative to paypal?

2000-11-14 Thread Erich

They seem to offer the same kind of service that paypal does, but with
a few enhancements: they guarantee that the payments will not be
subject to chargeback (according to the FAQ), and also, no identity is
required to open an account. Of course, you need a credit card to get
money into or out of the system, but you only need an email addr to be
able to send and receive money within the system.

The fact that the service is free means that they must be making money
on float, which is something they forgot to mention on their site, so
I do have some questions about how financially sound they are, but it
still seems like a cool service, and maybe some of the exchange
providers might want to start using it.
