Regarding the below, my interpretation is that the Canada Government, guarantees that WHEN YOU PURCHASE A MAPLE FROM THEM, it is actually one ounce of actual gold. (That strikes me as entirely unremarkable, actually. For instance Ford motor company totally guarantees that the car you buy really is a car!) What I thought was meant was: That if you buy a Maple from ANYONE, in the future (example, I buy an old one from Jim Ray), the Canada Government then guarantees that it is one ounce --- ie, even if Jim has shaved it or it has been rubbed a bit over the years. (Exactly as the governments guarantee that their money is worth .. their money!) In that way, you could buy and sell Maples, as bullion, WITHOUT ASSAYING them. But -- is that the case? Hi Michael, Took a look at v-funds. Upon reading the site, I had one question that I asked myself. Why would I want to open an account if it is going to cost me 5% to spend my e-gold into it? Sure, I have a lot of people that I can refer into this and make a few hundred or thousand bucks, but WHY? They seem to be using e-gold as a starting point. Without knowing who they are, I rather stay safe with e-gold as we all know that our gold is safe with them. Well, most of the time. As for OS Gold, I have 455 referrals with a total of $32.31. I still have not found a use for it but it is growing bit by bit and I have none of my own money that I put in. I remember Payment Alternatives that had launched several months ago where I had over $9000 in referral fees that I never saw. I prefer to wait and see what happened with this new one and keep my gold where it is. Just my two cents worth. MIKE = This email address is being terminated by May 30th, 2001. [e-gold-list] Re: Heap Of Gold Refunds....................
For everyone who is concerned about the Heap of Gold problems. Today I received a refund from Heap Of Gold. It was not complete but it shows good faith. They said E-Gold has the rest of it so we will have to get the remainder from E-Gold. I received $500.00 of my $530.00. It seems they are doing their best to fix the problems. [e-gold-list] Re: New program
The account numbers are nice and low around 464 (so far)!! Why is this a plus? There is a commission plan of 2US$ for each referral!! a one-time referral payment? I prefer the ad infinitum percentage of transaction fees type payout over the Paypal-like one-time payout. Also the $2 referral payment only happens if they deposit $30. It costs $1.50 to put the money into the system, and then $1.50 to take the money out of the system, for a grand total of $3. Quotes from the front page of their website. : The V stands for Value, where you will always get value on your money. As opposed to what, since they accept e-gold? On their FAQ page they make the following claim: Now you can transfer youre-gold funds to VFunds. Yes finally your gold is worth something of value. Last I checked, e-gold was worth over $280 per ounce. e-gold always has and always will have value. That is the whole point of being 100% backed by hard metal. : The V stands for Victory. where finally there is a secure method to : earn profit. It's usually called work, or gambling. But gambling isn't a secure method. : You can deposit or withdraw at the same rates of: : 5% Cash in, 5% Cash out : That is at least half of the current Money Maker rates. Additional charges may : apply for wire transfers and money orders based on your location. It costs 5% for me to take money out? And additional fees may apply? How is that a benefit over e-gold? I know of very few MMs who charge over 10% to do an InExchange from a money order or bank wire. However, they aren't lying; 5% is at least 1/2 of 5%. : Based on current bank interest rates, V-Funds.net will easily give you an : annual interest rate of close to 4 times current banking interest rates. So they guarantee that I'll receive to ~12-16% interest? Yet they don't even attempt to give a description of how this fantasic feat is accomplished. Now onto questions about the integrity of the site... * They don't have SSL at the login screen. * They don't have any contact info on their site. I have been unable to find any reference to city called Syd in Saudia Arabia, even on an arabic search engine, so it can't be that large. * The domain name was registered on May 10th 2001 (less than 2 weeks ago), and they onlny took the minimum 1 year registration. * They make no mention of how or where the money is kept.
