Hello, Yesterday, I offered to click my entire e-gold balance over to www.antiwar.com (yes, I am one of the peace queers) after reading a particularly well done article by them reposted somewhere online. I looked for the e-gold logo on their donation page, and then on the whole sitenada. I knew they had an e-gold account previously, so I was puzzled and wrote them with an inquiry and the offer of my donation. The guy, Eric, replied that he had been round and round with e-gold to get an interface set up and couldn't get it to work, and then waited 4 months to get his out-exch money from e-gold. Anyway, I told the guy to just use the simple html code for the SCI I'm running, and to sell his gold elsewhere in the market when he wanted to out-ex. He must be completely soured on e-gold, because he didn't want my entire balance (granted, not comparable to JPM's account) of hard e-cashweird I wonder if this is a political problem, e-gold attempting to disassociate with this publication to stay on the good side of the Washington Bombers? or am I too paranoid? [e-gold-list] Troubles with passphrase
I had some troubles with access to my E-gold account last days, and I sometimes got a message wrong passphrase, and then my account was blocked for 15 mins, and then again unsuccesful attempt. I ony succeded to enter from fifth or tenth attempt. I tried to contact e-gold service by e-mail and telephone, but only Jay, whose e-mail I found in this mailing list had contacted me and advised to check my computer and keyboard. I checked everythind and found the source of this trouble. I am using very nice Punto Switcher program, which automatically switch keyboard layout (this is very useful for users with national character sets, in my case this is russian language). But in this case the following things happen: when I registered at E-gold, I typed the passphrase, and the Punto automatically switched to russian layout. But I did not notice that behind to asterisks. I retyped the word in next field, and of course, both passwords match! But it was not password what I was thinking about. Next days, my Punto sometimes was switching to russian layout and sometimes no, so sometimes I was able to login, and sometimes no. At the end I started to suspect what Punto can be the reason of my troubles, and turned it off at all! Of course after this I was not able to login at all! Conclusion: It may be useful to have checkbox on the login page, what allow to turn off asterisk mode in passwords. I already noticed such checkbox on some other sites and it is very useful. For example, I use computer at home and nobody can see what I am typing. Another tip: you can type your password on notepad and then copy and past it into asterisked password field. So you can see exactly what you have typed.
