[e-gold-list] RE: Risky business?

2002-04-07 Thread Peter Cox

Their URL is http://www.energyflow.com/default.cfm?ReferredBy=10123 (OK,
so I included my referral ID).They mail unbounceable checks and money
orders among other things. I've found them to be convenient to use for
sending money, especially when paying for eBay auctions when the seller
won't take Paypal. This is the first time I've ever had a transaction
rejected because they didn't like the recipient.

-Original Message-

What kind of mail processing do they do? And if they only do
mail processing and not financial transactions, what do they
care where the mail goes?

Do you have a website for this company?

[e-gold-list] Merchandising

2002-04-07 Thread Lourens Human

Hi

I found a site that allows sites of any size to sell a
variety of merchandise at no cost. No need to pre-print
products or deal with shipping hassles, credit card orders,
or customer service - the site takes care of everything.
They work with some of the leading brands on the Internet
and have over 200,000 stores online!

Now, I am telling you this because I would like to get your
written permission include your company logo in my store to
conform with the legal requirements if the site.

I just joined this new service and find that I can create
and sell T-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, Tank Tops, Tote bags
and a few other excellent items with any designs on them.
All that I do is to upload a picture, and they create a
complete storefront for me - completely free. It's easy and
does not take long -; in addition, it is a lot of fun.

Try it out by visiting this link:
http://www.cityhost.za.net

If you visit the site through that link, I will get credit
in their referral program should you decide to rather setup
a store for your self, which is also great. Go check it out
for yourself, it is cool!

Please send me your logo(s) that is at least 200 pixels
high together with your written permission that I may use
this logo on commercially sold items. I will inform you as
soon as your items are ready.

I will look into the design of an interface that will
enable visitors to use e-gold as alternative payment if I
get a positive response or this is another great
opportunity for bananagold!

Thanks,

Lourens Human

2002-04-07 Thread Arik Schenkler

Peter shalom,

I have surfed the EnergyFlow.com site.
They accept Credit Card payments and exchange those payments into a money
order. As we all know, using credit cards is not secure and thus their
service is open to fraudulent activities.

What I find annoying is that they libel innocent third parties. This is
un-acceptable. E-Gold did nothing wrong and is held guilty of fraudulent
activities - that's in-justice.

I think you can over come any barrier they put.

Send the money order to any market maker on his/her private name.
I am sure their database of rejected third parties does not cover market
makers private names.

2002-04-07 Thread jpm

The problem with _any_ method of stock market prediction is that it is
self-defeating. If I can figure out an algorithm to prediction that ABC
Corp.'s stock, currently trading at $3, will be at $10 a week from today,
then lots of other people will figure it out too. Because of that, the price
would already be $10, not $3. I don't see how any market analysis Mandelbrot
can come up with can get around that.

Yes, that is absolutelty and completely correct. There's a name for

[e-gold-list] Re: e-ponzis? -- the gold economy

2002-04-07 Thread jpm

I'm new to e-gold and still researching it, whats out there, where the
needs are, where the adaptation is, etc.

Almost all searches are dominated my pyramid schemes, I find it hard
to believe people shrewd enough to use egold are credulous enough
to try these.

Is this the extent of the e-gold economy?

Mark, the ponzi schemes are crap. Put them out of your mind

http://www.bananagold.com ... you can now use all major DGCs
   at the world's biggest online
   store, amazon.com (my company owns
   this)

http://www.xodds.com ... perhaps the most innovative site on the
whole internet; it runs on e-gold
a whole new form of investing in markets

http://www.thegoldcasino ... really an entirely new paradigm for
  marketing and commerce. without
question the best of all online
  casinos, and utterly innovative as
unlike all other online casinos you
  can take your winnings INSTANTLY,
due to the nature of e-gold/goldmoney

http://magazinedepot.com ... absolutely perfect example of e-gold
  commerce, e-gold commerce to perfection

http://www.planetgold.com ... this is the newspaper of the
revolution, check out some of the
   interviews with major DGC figures
congressman Ron Paul, and so on.
(Operated by the same guy who does
   magazinedepot.com)

I very much like the idea of egold but can see this as a limiting
factor perception-wise.

There is NO LIMIT to the vistas of e-gold, Mark. The bottom line is
you can make SHITLOADS of money, as you are now one of the first
handful of humans, essentially, to know about DGCs. In 5 years, DGCs
will be as common as telephones are today.

Don't forget, the *raison d'etre* of the internet .. .is DGCs.

DGCs are the most significant invention since the idea of coining
precious metals into repeatably shaped coins.

Every single DAY, people are buying books, videos, DVD players,
cameras, video cameras, microwave ovens, Macs, PCs, cellfones,
printing calculators, kitchenware, TV sets, big screen TV sets,
plasma screen TV sets, espresso machines, hifi, walkmans, luggage,
CDs, clocks, prams, toys from http://www.bananagold.com

Enjoy.

2002-04-07 Thread norseconcepts

AFAICS, click two cents by the fiord boys looks llike a clone of the
 original, two-cents-worth

How is Click Two Cents a clone? It is based on the same concept that JP
May came up with a while ago, however there the similarity ends.

Almost every new innovation that Click Two Cents has released has been
hastily cloned by two-cents-worth.

Most notably:
- Actual account name in the 'Pay' field
- simplified link
- Account name displayed on the preview/amount-choice page

Click Two Cents is still distinguished from two-cents-worth in that it
allows the payer to choose which unit metal to tip in.

Nobody is forced to use either of these services, but Click Two Cents is
not, and has never been, a mere clone of two-cents-worth.

If Gold Money was forced by government to institute the KYC
policy, as were all the banks, then I can understand. It's
either do that, or die. In such a case, I would have put a
disclaimer in the message saying that the KYC policy was forced
upon Gold Money.

If Gold Money simply thinks that KYC is a good idea, independent
of government intervention, then I think it is a shame. Of
course, Gold Money is a business, and they can do what they

then kudos for Gold Money.

I can't speak for others, but I would not use a KYC financial
system if I could help it.

So you suggest we all hide behing a black curtain. I say that
 the
best weapons is to stand up, show who you are, and fight.

You mean like the Branch Davidians over at Waco, Texas? Or Randy
weaver at Ruby Ridge? These people were massacred. You really
cannot accept the fact that to stand up, show who you are can
lead to disastrous consequences not only to yourself, but to
your family?

The government would love to see who you are so that it can
extinguish you. It is not always a good idea to engage in blood
shed. Fighting on the governments terms is suicide. Should I
stand up, show who I am in front of a tank? Anonymity is not a
dirty word. It is a legitimate claim to one's right to be let
alone, and to be able to conduct one's business and express
oneself without fear of retaliation by the majority in power.

Anonymity is a crucial lynchpin of liberty. To deny people that
is an insult, IMHO.

Who is talking about violence. You can fight for your

 legally and peacefully.

But it is your opponent who decides what is legal. How can one
fight legally if your fight (let's say not to license a gun or
not to file an income tax return) involves something that is
currently deemed illegal by your opponent? That makes no sense.

Further, it was the government that initiated violence in my

Aren't you confusing anonimity and privacy?

I don't think so. Do you think that they are mutually exclusive?

Retaliation happens only if you break the law. Strangely, all
those who break the law wants to remain anonymous

Why is that strange? A lot of injustices carried out by
governments in the course of history have been legal at the
time. Runaway slaves were breaking the law and wanted to remain
anonymous. People helping them did not wish to be discovered.
Chinese dissidents crave anonymity. The list goes on and on.
Do you feel these law breakers are immoral? Would you force them
to stand up and fight?

Don't get me wrong. I believe, like the founding fathers, that
there is a time and place for fighting for one's freedom. But
it should not be on government's terms. That would be suicide.

 and very few
who follow the law feel the need to maintain anonimity.

You got the assumption right, I think. But you did not refute
my reasons for supporting anonymity.

Is this the extent of the e-gold economy?

How did you run your queries? Here are some queries I ran on Google.com,
back in January:

Let's start with the obvious.

Searched for:

1) (money e-gold) Results: 37,900 (Probably every page which mentions
e-gold will mention 'money')

2) (web e-gold) Results: 32,600

Now, let's look for HYIPs:

3) (hyip e-gold) Results: 345

4) (investment e-gold) Results: 3,950

interesting... Now casinos:

5) (casino e-gold) Results: 3,160

6) (game e-gold) Results: 4,340

Web Hosting:

7) (web hosting e-gold) Results: 2,440

8) (hosting e-gold) Results: 13,700

Computer Related:

9) (hardware e-gold) Results: 1,870

10) (software e-gold) Results: 9,850

Now Shopping:

11) (shopping e-gold) Results: 6,130

12) (coins e-gold) Results 1,970

13) (crafts e-gold) Results: 606

14) (hobby e-gold) Results: 475

15) (auction e-gold) Results: 2,550

Books:

16) (books e-gold) Results: 8,690

17) (publishing e-gold) Results: 1,440

I think Computer related businesses, (including Web Hosting), may be the
largest category.
