[e-gold-list] No Audit

2003-01-30 Thread François Michaud

Never.

Sidd

I thought they did a few years a go. I believe this is an unacceptable
practice.
I am publicly asking you e-gold the reasons why you do not have at a bare
minimum an annual audit.

It is beyond me why you are reluctant to do so, unless of course there is
something to hide. If not then don't you realize you are jeopardizing a
successful franchise just by raising the doubt. You enjoy not a monopoly but
let's say you're the Microsoft of GBC's :-). e-gold, because of it's
predominance is cheaper to use/exchange/move around in time and expenses...a
great plus but don't just sit on your assets (no pun) go the next step and
give us piece of mind.

Will we have to move over to Crown Gold (monthly audit) in order for you to
understand the necessacity and urgency. The GBC's will never break into the
next level of growth if strong accountability is not implemented, it's that
simple.

I am doing more and more business in GBC's (e-gold mostly) but I am growing
nervous the larger the amounts get. I have a fiduciary duty to protect our
assets and it is un-acceptable to me not having a third party examining OUR
holdings held in YOUR(egold) name.

The live examiner is NOT proof of accountability.

I have been a long term user of e-gold, almost since inception. I have
patiently waited to see if these audits would ever come. It looks like it is
not, unless I have miss something.

On another note, 3-4 months before Osgold collapsed I started pressing them
for proof of backing. Of course after a first "canned" response (they pasted
what was on their site) they never replied to me on following emails. So I
converted all my OSGold before the collapse and publicly warned my
friend/associate to do the same.

I am not trying to be smart here but to show that we the users have also our
share of responsibilities in not accepting risk that can be easily avoided
(my investment background here :-). I do not believe in sitting around and
waiting for things to happen.

Lets see the response from e-gold and your comments folks before elaborating
further but again don't you think that we should NOT tolerate this laxity?

[e-gold-list] New Ultra Fast Loading Gold Price Charts!

2003-01-30 Thread Joel Bruce
http://gold-priceS.net -- Ultra fast loading gold price charts.
This site is designed for those who just want the gold price fast!
The "S" is for speed!

This site is a cut down fast loading version of our main site
http://gold-price.net

All of our gold price charts have a smaller file size than kitco's.
Our charts are at least 40 - 60% smaller in file size.
This means they load faster on our site and your site!
e.g.
Kitco's 24 hour gold chart. 3440 bytes
Gold-Price.net's 24 hour chart 1873 bytes!

If you currently have a kitco chart on your site why not replace it with a
fast loading http://gold-price.net chart and start receiving highly
targeted traffic to your Internet gold site today.

Every time a visitor clicks on your chart you receive a vote.
The more votes you receive the higher your site is listed.
You can see by visiting http://gold-price.net that all our existing
members are already receiving plenty of visitors.
We spend the membership fees on targeted advertising which benefits all
our members. Our members advertising co-op budget will soon be made
publicly viewable via the http://1mdc.com publicly viewable
account balance charts.

If you would like to place a gold price chart or button on your site for
free, we have a range of charts and buttons in grams and ounces:

http://gold-price.net/gold-price-charts.html

If you sell a product in grams of gold why not put one of our
$US per gram buttons or charts beside the price.

We have included the html code to make it easy to place these charts and
buttons on your site. If you need any help please feel free to email us,
we are only to happy to help!

Thank you to everyone who has sent us feedback.

[e-gold-list] CashCards Top 5 Problems

2003-01-30 Thread Bruno Garcia
Hi everyone!

I am a member of CashCards since December 2002. I want to ask everyone if it happens
to you the same:

1. I cannot login... the login page usually does not load.

2. This is most important problem: I transferred them from e-Gold to VCash 150 USD.
Still, after 48 hours, my VCash account was not funded.
What the hell is going on, are we in Pre-historical age?
Why so slow, mr. Steve?

3.I am constantly wondering how can they keep such an UGLY interface, and why they
don't update at least once in 2 years their FAQ page, which is still "Coming Soon..."
What it takes for Steve to move his cute little a s s and do some changes in the
horror design (I think they have the worst webdesigners since gitgold to our times...
or no webdesigners at all...)

4.It is not clear to me how much will I be charged to transfer my e-gold onto the
cashcard... 1%? 3%? 5%? 2%+2%?
It doesn't write clearly anywhere... and the FAQ page is inexistant.

5.What a customer support they have. It is so bright it lacks completely! I see
nowhere a phone number or at least an e-mail address where these guys from CashCards
they can be contacted!

6.I hope they will be not so lazy and they will move and do things better!!! The 5,000
customers they have deserve a lot better

Sincerely yours
With respect
Bruno

Hello Bruno

You forgot about the absolute nonsense regarding you can fund you CashCards egold with
egold, your
VCash with eGold and your eGold with VCash and they charge 2% for every exchange
when in fact
is exactly the same thing !!! only your 1000 USD become 980 USD and then 960 USD and
then...

But they dont actually do not do anything, only let you wait, and charge fees for your
wait !!!.

And you have 3 account numbers with them (one for your membership and another one your
egold
number and yet another one your FreeCash account number...

Why not a 4th account number: a VCash account number? or it already exists and I
missed it? What a
fool I am)

A, and let's not forget their 3 passwords system: one for login, one for verifying you
and

a PIN number for your VCash account. And yes, you're right, they're completely
bullshit "Coming
Soon" everything... I wonder how they fooled this 5,000 customers they have into
joining...

Cheers everyone!

Saul

Funny quote:

These are the sort of folks who demand high levels of intrinsic value
when they buy shares of public companies, but are willing to embrace
ownership of a clod of yellowish ore that has no real intrinsic value
at all.

Uh yes, you philistine clod, it's called "money." No, you can't eat

Glad that we could give a deal you are happy with. I do recall that you
had a rather unusual request. We usually use 'special dates' to offer
budget deals when there is some leftover space on a server [we generally
only host 200 sites per machine and if a machine has 180 on it and it
happens to be Christmas or something...].
Actually the thingy with DNS fluids is an old hoster/admin joke [despite
the fact that the juice really exists as well] from the time when IP
addressing got the domain name system plugged on top and involves female
relations, bad wiring and poorly written code.

I'll search for it an email it to you if I find it - or someone that
recalls the whole joke.

Cheers,

[e-gold-list] digested some more

2003-01-30 Thread Jim Davidson
Dear Friends,

A correspondent asks about the significance of the
ratio between the price per ounce of gold and the
Dow Jones Industrial average. My answer is brief:
the Dow:Au ratio prices the Dow in gold, which is
very different from pricing it in dollars. While
dollars inflate, gold remains very stable.

One of the interesting observations from the 20th
Century is that every time there is a secular bear
market, the Dow:Au ratio resets to 1:1 before the
Dow heads for new higher ground. I have looked at
figures for this ratio, and I believe it re-set to
1:1 (an ounce of gold's dollar price equals the
dollar price of the Dow) a total of five times in
the 20th Century.

I believe USA stocks have another 40% or so of value
to give up in the next twelve to eighteen months.
If gold's value is to equal the Dow at that point,
we're talking a $4800 per ounce price of gold. Of
course, the Dow could head further down from there,
so gold might not be ready to meet it for a while.

Dow:Au is today closer to 21.6.

Jim Ray posts:

http://biz.yahoo.com/rm/030128/minerals_china_gold_1.html

What is interesting to me, here, is that selling six
million dollars worth of gold has a substantial price
effect on China's market price. I'm not impressed
with their idea of a market, where buying gold from
outside the country to sell is considered illegal.

Kudos to Marco of PayByGold for identifying the scamsters
trying to boost funds from a charity. Thanks Marco! Keep
up the good work.

Andi LeDuc reports having received a very odd message.
I got it, too. My copy came from "infonex.com" which
is owned by Anonymizer. Infonex got the message from
cyberpass.net which is also owned by Anonymizer.

The "Swiss" gentleman says about his business:

About my business, it is to find investments for *large*
amounts, from $50M. Oil, sugar, steal sometimes, etc.

We may be glad they "steal sometimes" but not all the time.

and some nice surprises for some other market-makers.

Okay.

www.eurogoldscam.com

I haven't looked at the other registrations, but this
one is registered to a "Marc Mangione." At first I
just figured it was a Chuck Mangione fan, but I went
to Google and there turns out to be a 13-year-old from
Buffalo (goes to Depew Middle School) with that name,
who was able to work an algebra problem and got his
name posted to a web site. Since the young man from
Buffalo probably doesn't know what "poste restante"
means or what interesting things might be found at
1 rue du Louvre in Paris, or whether Paris has postal
codes like 75002, I'm guessing it is a different
Marc Mangione, or that's a made up name.

Anyway, zuc will have been sent to hell !

Appears to be a death threat. Tough beans, Frank.

So, being a curious sort, and having been promised that
exchange providers might get something from the exercise,
I went to the above mentioned URL, eurogoldscam.com.
There, I found a link pointing to a page hosted at
narod.ru which is owned by Yandex Technologies, and
that seems to include: Alexey Tretyakov, VLADIMIR L
IVANOV and MIKHAIL A. FADEEV (to quote the domain
registrar). It also strongly points to Russian rather
than Swiss "investors".

This link, by the way, is a .jpg of Frank's USA passport.
The passport fingers Frank as an Austrian who had his
passport renewed in Barcelona, Spain in December 1996.
His associate deBedts is apparently Belgian.

The "meat" of the site including "copies of e-mails"
seems to link to 404 "not found" if my Russian language
skills are any good. This suggests that Yandex is
a web hosting company of some sort.
