Subject: More thoughts on SR...

The messages are identical, except the replied-to sections in the second
message are smaller. Why did you feel it neccesary to purposefully post
the exact same thing twice?

I have no holdings in SR so the situation does not *directly* affect me.

Standard Reserve ( SR-AUG SR-USD ) ( In Stock )

When did you stop dealing in SR, or was it just good luck that you didn't
have any SR-AUG or SR-USD in stock when the site was brought down?

You are still dealing in -- make that selling, OSGold, and have remained
quite quiet about it.

What do you call somebody who continues to sell a worthless currency,

 sent it in?

OSGold ( Gold ) ( Available )
Sorry, we aren't taking OSGold at this time! Please see www.osgold.com for
more details.

osgold.com doesn't hint that there might even be a possible issue, or even
link to onegroupe.com where the news is being posted.
Yesterday's news was:
While we do apologize for the lack of new information in our
recent updates, this is a direct result of the lack of support
and communication from the OneGroupe Board of Directors.

IF you were concerned about your privacy in the first place, I would
recommend a currency such as Standard Reserve or OSGold, not e-gold.

Does anybody else have access to choice quotes extolling the high
quality customer service, security, privacy, longevity, etc... of SR or
OSGold, the authors of which have now either clammed up or assumed a high
mighty the situation does not affect me stance?

[e-gold-list] PayPal gives up market share

2002-07-10 Thread auto355462

(Not OSPyrite bashing, but still funny)

http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,53703,00.html?tw=wn_ascii

Online gamblers, most of whom can no longer use U.S. credit cards to fund
their habit, are about to lose yet another payment option.

Under the terms of its planned purchase of PayPal, eBay said Monday it
intends to stop offering the payment service for Internet gambling
transactions.

(Hopefully RJ won't whine about unfairness because of this 'off-topic'
post)

Would you like a refund for the funded amount?

I am uncomfortable about selling OSGold ecurrency
...
However, we are still accepting OSGold payments. The fulfillment dates for
these orders, of course, are totally dependant on OSGold redeeming cash to
 our bank accounts

 Graham Kelly CEO

Did your stock run low? If so, will you begin selling OSGold again when
people have sent OSGold payments to you?

[e-gold-list] re: Xchangers, fraud scams

2002-07-07 Thread auto355462

IF they had made some effort to do this (and prevent OR discourage ON PAR
exchanges of OSpyrite) -- then at least they could now say I told you so --
we did what we could to distance and DIFFERENTIATE E-gold from OSpyrite,
 don't blame us.

(begin quotes)
http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04043.html
 We do not wish to be associated, even indirectly, with osgold.com;
therefore, we have removed all links from the e-gold website to websites
that link or make reference to osgold.com.

 Reid Jackson
 Managing Director
 Gold Silver Reserve, Inc.

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04090.html
Even with this action of supposedly distancing themselves, e-gold have
not in any way prevented themselves from being lumped together with
OSgold by the media. The media will do it anyway... they are unlikely
to even be aware of e-gold's *distancing* policy.

At which point, e-gold can point to this specific action and say
NAYYHHH... TTHHBBBPPP!!! or much more probably, something more
 diplomatic.

 Viking Coder

I would tend to agree with you on some points. Particularly the issue of
 guilt by association.

(begin quotes)
http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04086.html
That certain exchange providers are lending e-gold's credibility to OSGold
by the combination of an approved link from e-Gold and the exchange
providers' subsequent recommendations of OSGold is a situation that e-gold,
and GSR as their operator is well justified in seeking immediately to stop.

That 'guilty by association' is a real threat to be avoided is clear

 Ian Green

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04085.html
Especially if it fits into the *scam* category as you suggest. No, it
is very unlikely that this is the motivation behind e-gold's action.

 Sidd.

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04092.html
As far as the deletion of the affiliates of OSGold -- I don't see what the
problem is? E-gold isn't restricting anyones business, they are simply
denying promotion of OSGold through their website.

 Methinks many hypocrites lurk here.

 Major Bosco

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04096.html
If OSgold is as great a profit center as everyone says, the de-listed
 affiliates shouldn't even miss e-gold.

 Major Bosco

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04093.html
E-gold's silly move will only hasten their demise as the dominant gold
economy site, directory site and gold currency. Surely it does nothing good

 David Hillary

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04052.html
Your actions seem rather hasty, in my modest (unsolicited) opinion.
...
we wake up to find out that e-gold does not want to be associated with
OSGold (cool, so don't be...no big deal) so they have terminated links to
the MM's who DO want to be associated with OSGold. This kind of reminds me
of the way my nephew dislikes sharing his Tonka Toy dump truck with my
niece, so he hides it under the bed when she wakes from her naps!

 Eric Gaither, President
 Gaithmans Gold Nation, Inc.

http://www.mail-archive.com/e-gold-list@talk.e-gold.com/msg04079.html
I am now tending to favour osgold over e-gold as:

 1) The service is excellent
 2) They do not make covert and snide attempts to dissuade people from
useing e-gold but rely on their customer service to bring them business.
