You've hit *Bug

[releng]
Git tagging must deal with IDs

I haven't had a chance to look at it, but I guess the solution is to look at
the feature.xml for features and the MANIFEST.MF for plugins and try and
parse out the ID.

Re: [e4-dev] [releng] build submission

2010-11-29 Thread Dimitar Georgiev
Hi,

Actually, we would like to fix our feature identifier to end in .feature, so
that it follows the convention of the other e4 projects. I noticed we are
the only ''black sheep' in the repo. But I guess just changing the feature
ID and reflecting the change in the map file is not enough. How do I also
reflect such a change in the integration build?

Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Dimitar

It would be in 3 places:

1) in your feature.xml
2) in the search.map
3) in the master feature

If you want to make a change this week, open a bug and post it here and we
can use that to co-ordinate.

   addon:org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench.addons.swt:DnDAddon
   addon:org.eclipse.e4.core.commands:CommandServiceAddon

The problem with extension points is they are read in an arbitrary order.
Control of the ordering of this kind of thing has been a complaint on the
RCP and/or Product side for a long time. If they go in the model, then
document order controls them.

But you're right, I traded e4.core.commands defined them and added them
for you have to add these to your model, in the correct order. I'm open
to suggestions or discussion on this.

As an aside, this is part of the work that will get rid of the
E4CommandProcessor.

That's not completely true in the our ModelAssembler we do a sorting by
evaluating the dependencies between the contributing bundles.

So if e.g. keybindings has a dependency on commands e.g. then it is
guaranteed by this algorithm that the commands contributions are
processed before the keybindings ones!

I think Oleg or Brian wrote the algorithm.
