[Elecraft] Subject: Elecraft, K1 Filter Board Questions
Snip I have obtained a K1 and have a couple of questions regarding the KFL1-4 board. Is there any reason it can't be constructed with 80 - 40 - 30 - 20 meters? If you purchase a new one it comes with 40 - 30 - 20 - 17/15 meters. Considering the state of the solar cycle I'd prefer a board with lower frequency capability. So is it possible to build a board with 80 - 40 - 30 - 20? Second question has to do with 60 Meters. Is it technically feasible to have 60 meter receive cavility on a K1, assuming the toroids and other components aer appropriate to the frequency? The K1 is a super little rig and I'ce already become very fond of it. It would be perfect if I could get my preferred band selection on one filter board. 73, Ron WA5VFA Snip Ron, I built a 4-band board for 40/30/20/15 and a two band board for 80/40m so since 40m is a favourite for me I have it on both boards. My antennas are all resonant so I don't use the kat 1 much and swapping the boards takes only about 3 mins. FW: [Elecraft] RSGB Field Day
A Power supply drop-out can cause that. Did the LCD say Elecraft for a moment after it happens? Dan / WG4S / K2 #2456 snip occasionally with drop out on TX. I key up and the K2 just seems to drop out, /snip ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. Re: [Elecraft] K2 ALC Anomaly Using PTT
Hi There are several parts to the KI6WX SSB mods. The 2.5 KHz mod only requires changing some capacitors on the SSB board in the crystal filter area. The mod that is affecting the ALC is a separate mod for increasing the gain for low output mics and involves adding a transistor and rewiring the toroids. You do not need to do the changes below if you have not added the transistor for increased gain. I have installed the two resistors in the mod that Gary told me about, and the K2/100 ALC now works as it should. I am now going to do Gary's mod to my other K2/100 since it also has the KI6WX mods installed on the KSB2 board. 73 de NA8M John ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.netmailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] K2 Front Board Resistance check
When are using an auto-ranging meter meter, I sometimes get that kind of result. If I select the specific range instead, I usually get a proper reading. In any case, OL is measuring a high resistance which is greater that that specified and that is what you are looking for.
