[Elecraft] Kx2 and IQ
Hello, knowing that the chances for a new board with an IQ - Output for the Kx2 are minimal, I would kindly ask again, whether there is a chance for this connector. Background for this question are new developments, which would significantly improve the possibilities of the Kx2. In addition to the reply by Jim, be careful if using ready made “audio” extension cables. Many are not screened and will pickup RF. Even with antennas that are not close to your shack, you can have high RF levels on the coax outer, in turn that means on the case of your KX3. An easy to make RF clamp meter will show if you have these common mode currents flowing on cables into and around your shack. [Elecraft] W2 control wire length?
Hi, I have a W2 with an HF coupler and I am entertaining the idea of putting it out in a waterproof container just before the feed-point of my antenna (non-resonant vertical). The run is about 75’. Does anyone know if there is a limit on the cable length? If so, what is it? I don't know, but it would be easy to try with a coil of Ethernet cable and some resistors. The question is, why do you want to do this?
