Re: [Elecraft] K2: The green glow returns!
Great news for the K2 Wayne, I finished my K2/100 Twins about 1 1/2 yrs ago. It's the first rig I turn on in the morning and the last I turn off at night even though I have a K-Line. I can't believe how much pleasure that piece of equipment has given me. This morning I'll be disconnecting the K2 this morning and heading out to coffee with our little klub in Bigfork, MT. BARK/K7CMT We set up a little ham stick dipole up at 12 feet or so outside the coffee shop and operate CW. Curious customers always are amazed the radio was a kit. The CW ringing out from the speaker sounds so nice it draws people over. We worked ON4UN with 10 watts about 6 months ago from there. It shows how good his antenna's work! I hope every ham on the reflector orders one from you. Long live the K2. [Elecraft] KAT100-1 and 2 Discontinued
This may be old news, I searched and didn't see anything about it. I was looking at the Shipping Status page and noticed they had discontinued the tuner. They still have the KPA100 for sale, but without the tuner it's seems it won't be long before they discontinue the 100 watt amp. The K2 kit is on back order due to a high volume of orders so if you want one it may be a good time to get on the list. Makes me glad I was able to build the entire K2/100 and KAT100-2 and all the optional boards. What a great radio. I like to listen to this rig more then my K3 on CW. It just has a pleasing tone. All good things must come to an end I suppose. Re: [Elecraft] K2 on the air!
Congratulations Ken, I got my K2 up and running in October!! Love the thing. I got the KAT100 working last month, and I am working on the KPA100 now. It hears just about as good as my K3 with the upgraded synthesizers in my humble opinion. I purchased an older kit that went up for sale last summer. It has every option including the KDSP2. CW sounds so sweet. I would really like to try the KAF2 just to hear the difference on CW. I find myself bypassing the KDSP2 on strong signals, just to hear the crystal filters by themselves. The KDSP2 really shines on weak signal work though. It's very satisfying to finish the K2 and have it work so well. I also get great audio reports on SSB. Long live the K2!! [Elecraft] P3 Beta Firmware Issue with DX Labs
Hi, I have updated to the latest P3 Beta firmware MCU 1.59 and have the SVGA option installed. It's working great, except with the previous firmware, with SVGA Data off, DX Labs Winwarbler would display both decoded CW and RTTY from the K3 and with SVGA Data on it would disable Winwarbler. Now only RTTY will display on Winwarbler. CW is never displayed on Winwarbler with SVGA Data on or off. Could this be a minor bug in the Beta firmware? The new #RCF command works perfectly by the way. Any ideas?
