Re: [Elecraft] K3S VFO B doesn't change sub-RX frequency
Hi George. Thanks for the reply. It’s not in diversity receive because I do get different frequencies on VFO A and VFO B. Turning VFO A tunes the main RX as expected but turning the VFO B knob does nothing. The VFO B knob itself does work because it correctly changes things in the config menu. Holding SUB allows me to tune the sub RX. I just can’t tune the sub RX with the VFO B knob. It used to work as expected but now doesn’t. That’s why I thought a setting may have been changed inadvertently. 73 Jim KY2D From: George Danner Sent: Monday, December 4, 2023 09:06 To: Jim Kutsch KY2D Cc: Elecraft List Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3S VFO B doesn't change sub-RX frequency Are you "Holding" Sub to turn on sub? Is it possible to have the K3S internal sound card feed the transmitter audio and also have the line-in jack feeding it at the same time? Re: [Elecraft] [KX3] More Macro Buttons
I'd find this very useful too. If it was possible to set one of the PF buttons to a "more macros" feature, then not only 0 through 9 but essentially every other button and knob could be used to activate a different macro. It would just be necessary to push the PF key followed by the desired other button or knob. [Elecraft] KX3 need microphone help
I'm running a KX3 and KXPA100 here. Both are very early units but with the latest firmware. All is fine with the Elecraft hand mic but I want to use a boom mic and foot switch. However, I'm having problems with two different mics. In both cases, when power is set to more than 50W, the audio is distorted. This happens with the Carolina Windham, the hex beam, and even on a dummy load. I added a common mode choke but it didn't help. The mic with the problem is an Electrovoice RE15 on a boom with its XLR connection going into a HOSA splitter cable, TRS on the KX3 side and two XLR connectors on the other. Thinking this old Electrovoice might be the problem, I also tried a non-amplified D104 upgraded with a Heil HC5 element. It's connected with a TRRS patch cable cut and hard wired into the D104 base. The problem remains regardless of mic bias on or off and mic buttons on or off. Anyone have any ideas? Or, can anyone recommend a mic and cabling solution I can buy?
