[Elecraft] P3 hole cover
Hi all Can someone confirm that early orders for the P3 are being sent the P3 hole cover for the unused oulets on the rear cover as an upgrade? I also seem to remember a post about the I.F upgarde with the 13k resistor was being sent as well to very early K3 owners, mine being K3 #139. Any info on either appreciated. [Elecraft] P3 #33
Hi all P3 #33 arrived today after a week in Customs at Auckland Airport and payment of the requisite dues:( Anyway it all went together after about 2 hours A few issues: 1/ The bottom cover is quite a tight fit against the RJ connector and I may take it apart and adjust it with a small file. 2/ I will have to check if I have the I.F. Buffer Gain Mod. installed as the signals on screen are only visible on very strong ones. 3/ There is a blemish (photo available) on the front panel metal work in the cutout around the screen about 7-8mm up from the bottom on the right hand side.Its like there was a fault in the press that was used to make the cutout. 4/ I notice a red light flashing at about 50-60 hz from the underside thru a join in the steel panels. Hi all, Here is an update to my line out problem in which there is no detectable line out signal. I have tested for a signal using headphones connected to the lineout socket and have no output.(Thanks Rich VE3KI) The K3AFMDKT upgade has been made with no improvement or difference in signal. To sumamrise: K3 with 13 khz filter at #1 pos and 2.7 at #2 KRX3 with 2.7 khz filter at # 1 pos KDVR also installed I can confirm that the lineout level was FB before the latest hardware upgrades. [Elecraft] K3 Lineout level
Hi all, Is there any way of measuring the line output level as I seem to have none that I can see? The reason I ask is I cannot seem to see any signals in the MixW waterfall anymore after upgarding to the 2nd RX and the DVR Full setup is 13.kzh filter in #1 and 2.7 in #2 with just the 2.7 in the second rx Yes i have the latest Elecraft Utility prog and F/W. Seasons greetings from ZL, I have just upgraded to the 2nd RX and DVR and now get very little signal showing on the MixW waterfall. Hi all, I have had a query from a friend Bob ZL1VJ who has no tx on ssb in his K2. It has rx on ssb and works fb on cw,both tx and rx. Hi all, I seem to have made a bit of a blue in installing the latest upgrade to the FW 1.88 and need some help! Have not been able to get much output on either PSK31 or SSB since upgrading the FW and would like to do a complete reset and start again, which I know is a PITA.. It WILL be operator error I am sure so just need some insight as to where to go from here. [Elecraft] K3 memories
Am I missing something or is it buried somewhere how to save memory channels including the power setting;perhaps also filter settings as I have not taken note of that? It does gets a bit tiresome adjusting power settings when changing between SSB and the digi modes where I like to limit my power to about 20 watts. I agree with other posters who have commented on being able to load memories via the com port and with different configurations loaded it would be possible to have unlimited memories over all portions of the HF spectrum. I am pleased to report the problem is solved Many thanks to Greg AB7R (do you guys ever sleep??) Here is his reply: Pete, What mode do you have the K3 in. PSK-D? If so please change it. PSK-D is not ready just yet (see the errata sheet). PSK work great right now in Data-A mode with MixW. Make sure you use the MENU option MIC SEL and choose Line In. In this setup CMP is locked at zero (you need the current FW from the website). And MIC will control the output level. As you can see it was again a very simple solution.. Hi all and Happy New Year Can someone please show me where I am going wrong trying to get the the K3 in data mode to play nice nice with MixW? I can key the tx no problem but monitoring on my k2 shows about 4 vertical lines and it sounds like a carrier only and there is none of the usual twin vertical lines only of a clean PSK31 signal. Hi Phil, I am pleased to report that I had no problems at all getting my K3 /100 kit thru NZ Customs. I got a letter in the post, rang the enclosed phone# to pay NZ$381 GST etc and had it on my desk at the saltmine the next morning. The hardest part was looking at it all day at work!!. It went together a treat and works well. Be VERY carefull to completely read and understand the construction manual as I had a problem setting up and callibrating the rig but after a cople of emails to the helpful folk at Aptos all is well. Enjoy the rig and give us shout if you need help or want a K3 to K3 qso!!
