[Elecraft] RTTY tail
I'd love to know the secret of defeating the long tail after a rtty transmission. Ive been told to send the prosign IM but it has never worked. [Elecraft] K3 no power output
Hi, Don: While using K3 (S/N 855) today, the power out of the K3 dropped to '0' in mid-sentence. I was putting out about 50 watts driving an ACOM 2000A. I checked all the obvious things, short of resetting the rig. From the rig straight to a dummy load (by passing the ACOM amp, etc.) there is still zero output in all modes. I'm thinking that I might have popped the low output (10W) finals since there is zero output (If I had popped the finals, I guess that I should still have 10w out). Any ideas before I ship it back to the factory? [Elecraft] K3 firmware upgrade
I have routinely been able to update software in both K3s in the usual manner. I tried to update to 4.51 today and the latest K3 urility that comes up on the Elecraft site is 1.12.3.28. This utility will not allow me to update to 4.51. I see that Elecraft recommends K3 utility 1.3.9.2 but I can find no evidence of that one on Elecraft' site. Hi, Dick: Thanks so much for the quick reply. Of course, I didn't update the info in the cache so it only showed my last upload (4.39). I HATE getting old. Both K3s updated to 4.51...smooth as silk. Is there a list of menu items current through 4.51 or do I just print the software update list? [Elecraft] K3 interface with N1MM
Good Evening, All I'd like to interface my K3 to N1MM. Am I assuming correctly that one needs only connect the rig's RS232 port to a serial port on the computer to get full radio control AND CW sending? If not, an RS232 cable from K3 to computer and LPT1 keying interface from computer to rig? Regarding RTTY, can I use a 15 pin video cable with the correct wires connected for FSK using a DXP38 modem? Which of the Heil Proset (HC5) 8-pin adaptors should be used with the K3? ICOM, Kenwood or Yaesu? [Elecraft] dual receive with K3
If one purchases two receivers in one K3, can one 'split' dual-receive (one freq in left ear and the other in right ear) ala FT1000D and others?
