[Elecraft] KPA500 with WSJT digital modes
I am considering using a KPA500 on 6 meter meteor scatter. The MSK144 digital mode uses 100% duty cycle for 15 seconds and off for 15 seconds. Can anyone share their experience using this amp in this mode? Is the KPA500 up to the task at full 500 watts output on six meters? Re: [Elecraft] K3 and Centurion Amp
Thanks to all for the responses to my question. Now I can order a K3S and know that I won't have to spend the cash for an amp right away. 73, Stew ke4yh __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
[Elecraft] K3S with Centurion amp
Has anyone used a K3 with a Ten-Tec Centurion amp? What is needed for QSK operation? Re: [Elecraft] KX3 ATU not inst

I went to the menu ATU.X MD and it says not inst and when I try to change the mode, it just says N/A. I tried pulling the ATU out and put it back in, which didn't help. It was working just fine since the day it was installed until tonight. Any thoughts before I call support? Thx, Tim I just went through the same thing with my KX3. The problem was caused by HRD. If you're using HRD try moving the Low Pwr Slider to 12Watts and see if that does the trick. You will see ATU on the KX3's screen. Also the KX3 menu will drop the .X and become just ATU MD. I really like HRD for logging but it doesn't get along with KX3 very well. 73 Stew ke4yh __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
Re: [Elecraft] KX3-2M module?
When driving a transverter presumably you will be running at 0dbm rather than at 5W. I wonder if the KX3 still experience thermal drift due to PA heating at very low power? Re: [Elecraft] P3 SVGA; chars randomly omitted during Tx
Thanks Paul, I have ordered one of these, but I now have a doubt. The issue with keyboard selection is seemingly with the keyboard mapping - won't this be different with a British keyboard? Should I have waited and got one when I am next in the US? Re: [Elecraft] P3 SVGA; chars randomly omitted during Tx
That is not a helpful response to what is actually a serious question! Is the key map issue such that not only do we need to use one of a relatively restricted set of keyboards, but also the keyboards for one particular country are required? The symbols on the keys are different in different countries, and my guess is that this is resolved in the key map in the driver on the computer, rather than the k/b h/w. To compound the potential for annoyance here, keyboards have a much shorter life than radios, and so many users will need to replace their keyboard at some stage. However the key mapping for even US keyboards of a particular brand may change over time, after all in their normal mode of operation, all that is required to support a revised h/w mapping is that a new mapping file is shipped to one OS company.
