[Elecraft] K3 cw rise time
Hello, This subject came up in a recent conversation, and I had to admit that I do not know the cw rise time of my K3. It's s/n 444, and does not have the cw rise time mod that elecraft sells. The firmware is the current version. I read somewhere that the rise time was decreased in a previous firmware issue, but I don't know if that's true. It was originally 8ms, I think, which is unnecessarily long. Can anyone help? 73, Tony KM0O -- Sent from: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
[Elecraft] K-pod question
I'm thinking about purchasing a K-pod. My K3 sits flat on a shelf, on its four rubber feet without the bail extended. Will I have enough clearance underneath the K3 to attach the K-pod cable, or does the front end of the K3 need to be raised? Thanks and 73, Tony KM0O -- Sent from: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] K3 and Yaesu Quadra in QRQ mode with QSK
Anyone using this combination please contact me directly. I'm encountering timing issues with cw speeds over 40 wpm. 73, Tony, KM0O ajwansch...@gmail.com -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K3-and-Yaesu-Quadra-in-QRQ-mode-with-QSK-tp7566292.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] K3 wish: Instant AGC setup recall
I posted the following last May and received no serious reponses. Maybe now, considering all the recent postings about AGC settings, it might be an idea whose time has come: Different band and QRM conditions can require different combinations of AGC parameters (HLD, SLP, THR, and decay rate). Thanks to Elecraft for allowing us to adjust all of these to our liking. But wouldn't it be even finer if we were able to program a few different combinations of those parameters for different operating conditions, and recall each combination as a package of settings with just one or two switch taps, maybe using the M1-M4 keys? Wayne, can this be done? [Elecraft] K3 10-meter sensitivity
Yesterday, in the 10-meter contest, I noticed that some other stations (using comparable antennas) within a very few miles of me were working stations that I could barely detect, or not even hear, on my K3. In itself that is not too unusual, but I had another radio in the shack, a Yaesu FT-900, so I connected it to the K3 for some comparative receiver testing. What I discovered was rather disappointing. About half the time, there seemed to be no difference in the ability of the two receivers to pick out very weak signals at or near noise level. The other half of the time, the old FT-900 seemed just a bit better. NEVER was the K3 better at digging out the weak ones. What are other people's impressions of the K3's sensitivity on 10 meters? This is a K3 that was in Aptos a few months ago and came back "within spec". Does the K3's 6-meter sensitivity problem extend down to 10 meters? Comments, anyone? 73, Tony KM0O -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-10-meter-sensitivity-tp1658620p1658620.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. [Elecraft] K3 with 1000 Hz filter
Hello everyone, I've just been informed by Elecraft that my KRX3 will be ready to ship in a couple of weeks, and I need to decide on filters for it. I'm wondering about the 1000Hz filter. Who out there is using it, and for what purposes, and what can you tell me about its performance? 73, Tony / KM0O -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-with-1000-Hz-filter-tp684023p684023.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. [Elecraft] K3 QSY using mic jack
I'd like to build a little QSY switch box that will sit on the table next to my keyboard. My question is: exactly what do pins 3 and 4 of the mic jack need to "see" in order to perform their function? I think it is more than just a simple closure to ground, but I'm not finding the info anywhere. Can anyone help?
