[Elecraft] Optical Encoder problem:

2006-08-30 Thread n9bx

Still no adjustment, or frequency change.

In the Elecraft Manual page 108 under Front Pnel Board, 4th paragraph
down it says. "The Encoder can be turned off By U3 to save current
under certain operating conditions". Does any one have any Idea what
this means? And also how would you try and turn it Back On.

[Elecraft] No output or receive on 60 meters

2005-04-02 Thread n9bx
I may have posted this twice not sure.

My Elecraft K2 4728 Has bothe the 169 and the 60 Meter Add on Module. 160 as
well as the rest of the radio works great at both High 100 watts and low, QRP
levels. But not on 60 Meters.
I can get the VCO voltage fine and yes the radio tunes 60 meters, but I can not
receive on it or peak C1 and C2 as nothing is heard. Also 40 Meters has now
went Dead. I get no power output on 40 or 60 Meters but full out put on the
rest of the Ham Bands.

Any help would be appreciated. This is first installation of this Mod Board,
so it never has worked yet.

Thanks

[Elecraft] Elecraft K2 SN# 4728 IS working!!!

2005-03-02 Thread n9bx
Ladies and Gentlemen:

Another K2 is on the Air. This one SN# 4728, Just mad its first 40 meter QSO
last night at 23:05 with W2ODC in ALPLAUS, NY and a 579 was the first report
using this rig. Howard said the signal for 5 watts, (I had the power turned
down for the first one), was great and sounded wonderful. The calling
frequency of 7040.00 worked fine .

One State in the Log, 49 More to go. Also One Country in the Log with 334 to
Go. Elecrafters love Optimists.

73 and lets keep the MOJO working.

[Elecraft] Transmitting on Power up

2005-02-25 Thread n9bx
Hello;

New to list and just at alignment and test part III, page 74. I have been
getting exceleent suggestions from Gary at Elecraft but was wondering if any of
you had any similiar problems.

When I power up to do the test on Page 74 My rig is keyed up. Power output is
4 watts. Even when I reset using 456 at power up, same thing. Another Ham
Chuch had diode d1 in the TR switch backwards that produced this same problem,
I checked mine and all is well. Up to this point all alignment and tests
worked perfectly, and assembly smoothly.

I am using Torroids from the torrid Guy.

I know that I will have to go back and set everthing else back up since I did a
reset but this power output thing is preventing that.

I also do not have the key closed on the Transcceiver and have measured the
required 84K to ground to verify that this is so.

Curious though if I hit the XFIL button to so to FL2, 3 or 4, The rig acts
normally and all functions work and the power output stops, and the rig works
peerfectly. But when reset and it goes to startup I see Elecraft for 2
seconds, followed by the keyer speed and PO=0.1 even though the power output
is 4 watts at this stage.

Any help would sure be wonderful

thanks to all
