Initially Logger32 was was locking all the time when I used KUSB. Downloads from the chip manufacturer did not help. Then some 2 months ago Elecraft posted a new driver, I downloaded it, and everything was fine ever since. This is under Vista. Mike Harris-9 wrote: G'day, Tried using my KUSB today. Mike, I have been using Logger32 for about 10 years and have had virtually no issues. I currently have 3 USB to serial adapters running on my PC, one for the Yaesu and two connected to the K-3, one for reading the data from the radio into Logger32, the other for the Logger32 CW keyer. At this moment CPU usage is running 2-7% with both Logger32 running and LP-Bridge running. PC is running XP and is a dual core Intel machine. Hope this helps. However, I believe the KUSB uses the Prolific PL2303 chipset, and I have had problems with other adapters using this chipset which were not experienced when using a real serial port. I obtained a USB adapter using an FTDI chipset which a retailer claimed was more reliable than the Prolific chipset and have not so far experienced any problems with it. - Julian, G4ILO.
