[Elecraft] 80M Elecraft SSB Net Announcement
Please join us on 3784 kHz (NOTE THE NEW FREQUENCY), 9PM ET Sunday (0200Z Monday). 80M has been good at that time of the evening, with strong signals and little QRN from thunderstorms these days. Your net control this week will be Dave, N8SBE. We had about 2 inches of snow in SE Michigan overnight, so it's all coated in white this morning. Hope to see you this evening on the net. 73, -- Dave, N8SBE __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

[Elecraft] 80M Elecraft SSB Net 3/20/2022
Meets Sunday evening 9pm ET (0100 UTC Monday morning) weekly on 3775 kHz (Yes, we know it's in the Advanced class portion of the 80M phone band, but we really couldn't find a clear frequency in the General class portion, my apologies). Note that we've kept the same local time, since we've found that attempting to shift with daylight time plopped us on top of another net that does NOT shift for daylight time. So, we go with the flow... Checkins (thanks for the relays!): WB9JNZ Eric IL K3 WM6P Steve GA K4 KPA1500 WY3T Tim FL K3s WB8HRO Tim MI FT450d KPA500 N9CPD Chuck IL FTdx10 N8SBE Dave MI K3sKPA500 Please check us out and check in. 80M is generally quite good propagation amongst the stations on the East Coast and MidWest. It would be interesting to see if folks out West can check in, as well. It's nice for everyone to be able to hear each other without pronounced skip zones, like we encounter on the higher bands. 73, -- Dave, N8SBE __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

Re: [Elecraft] 80M Elecraft SSB net
Well, we had one check in this evening, besides myself. Steve, WM6P, said that he could barely copy me, so perhaps the propagation was off, and of course, we tried changing the UTC time which may have confused some. I have a standing conflict at 8pm local time on a local 2 meter repeater ARPSC net, so I'd prefer to keep this net at 9PM ET, summer time or not. I guess we'll see. Opinions, options? Here is the checking roster for this evening: WM6P Steve K3s KPA1500 N8SBE Dave K3s KPA500 Net control 73, -- Dave, N8SBE Quoting Dave New : Fellow Elecrafters, After the recent time change, we found that when attempting to meet at 0100 UTC, which now comes out to 8pm EST, there were several other nets running on and around our chosen net frequency of 3775 kHz. I listened until after 9pm EST, which was our normal time during daylight time, and the frequency was clear, as we have experienced this past summer. So, let's all try meeting this evening (Sunday local) at 0200 UTC, which will come out to 9pm EST/6pm PST.
