Re: [Elecraft] ACC Y cable
Hi Chuck, When I first found that product at Cable Wholesale in 2009, I asked about the "missing pin 9". The response: "Hi Iain, Sorry about my oversight on that spec sheet. I guess I just glanced at it, and didn't notice pin 9 missing on the list, and pin 10 missing on the drawing. I did do a pinout test on this cable, and it is 1:1:1 for all 15 pins. Pin 9 on the male end does connect to pin 9 on both female ends. Same goes for pin 10. I guess the only thing I can't tell you is if any pins are shorted to the shield. Not sure how to check that with my current equipment. How many of these parts would you require if it met your needs? I could possible set you up with our sales department and get you a sample. Thank you, ~Joe P.S. I'll write to our factory, and ask for an updated spec." I guess they never did fix the spec (properly). AFAIK, they do still include all 15 pins. Many members of this list have since purchased this product and used it successfully. FWIW, I have no affiliation with Cable Wholesale, other than as a satisfied customer. 73, ~iain / N6ML On Fri, Apr 5, 2013 at 10:31 AM, Chuck - AE4CW wrote: > The specification page for this Y cable has a Note 3 that says that there is > no pin 9 on the male connector. Re: [Elecraft] ACC Y cable
The specification page for this Y cable has a Note 3 that says that there is no pin 9 on the male connector. Can anyone confirm this is true? This is the BAND2 data line. --- Chuck, AE4CW - --- Chuck, AE4CW -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/ACC-Y-cable-tp7572119p7572252.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] ACC Y cable
I get my cables at Cable Wholesale as well. They even provide pdf’s of the spec sheets on the cables so you can see what pins are connected. A VGA Y cable will not work. You need a Y cable that is connected pin for pin. Look at winford engineering. http://www.winfordeng.com/products/cdy15hd.php 73 Greg AB7R On Apr 2, 2013 8:20 PM, "Ricardo PY2PT" wrote: > Dear guys, > > Today, I've bought a DB15 Y cable (VGA) - 1 DB15 male to 2 DB15 female to > connect on back of K3 (ACC port). > The cable is for the band data cable from linear and interface cable. > > So, when I connect the cable on ACC port the radio turn on. [Elecraft] ACC Y cable
Dear guys, Today, I've bought a DB15 Y cable (VGA) - 1 DB15 male to 2 DB15 female to connect on back of K3 (ACC port). The cable is for the band data cable from linear and interface cable. The band change did not work well but sometimes changed the band. So, I think that this VGA cable is not the correct one. What you guys suggest?
