Re: [Elecraft] K3: ATU but a bigger version (Bill K9YEQ)
I've been using a MFJ-998 with my K3/ALS-600 for almost two years now. Works great. I also used it with an ALS-1300 that I had here for about two months, and the MFJ-998 easily handled the higher power of the ALS-1300. The MFJ-998 is primarily used with my 43-foot vertical on all bands. I do have base matching on 160/80 meters, but just the unun interface on 40-10 meters. Re: [Elecraft] K3: ATU but a bigger version (Bill K9YEQ)
Dean, thank You very much for Your nice tip. Unfortunately this unit is able to handle 600W key down and mainly the most important antenna's switch is not presented at all. So if will decide for an investment into the remote controlled ATU then definitely I need to serve more than single antenna. Petr, Even though I am the one who started this thread with my question, I need to find out your opinion about the new Palstar Auto Tuner. It is pretty good from what I read and if you read the reviews they are mostly very good. Apparently there had been a few new product type quirks that were overcome by new firmware updates. If nothing is forthcoming from Elecraft as far as news of a product, I will probably buy the Palstar. 73, phil, K7PEH On Jan 26, 2010, at 9:22 AM, Petr Ourednik wrote: > Hi, > > in fact there is no suitable remote legal power limit ATU on the market > provides all required functions and capabilities. Hi, in fact there is no suitable remote legal power limit ATU on the market provides all required functions and capabilities. I am looking for it for long years. Even overpriced gears available are just stupid unusable boxes unfortunately so I agree that something as You are talking about capable to handle more than 1HP (horse power) is highly wanted. 73 - Petr, OK1RP __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
