[Elecraft] K3 Update Utility
I recently obtained an IBM Thinkpad 600E laptop with Windows 98(Not second edition) with a whopping 128k of memory. Can such a minimal configuration be used with the K3 update software? The K3 Utility is regularly tested on Windows 98 SE, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Give it a try and let me know your experience with that small a memory! Thom, You might be able to get EMCPup to work on it. John - If you have not already done so, you might try getting a fresh download. It is not unknown for there to be an otherwise undetected hiccup (an error, to use a non-technical term) in the received file. Sometimes trying again will fix this sort of thing. [Elecraft] K3 Update Utility Under Linux/Wine
I'm another of thoes weird guys that likes to run Linux over Windows. Anyone have any expierence running the K3 update utility under wine? I installed it and it ran and I was able to see the utility but when clicking update it didn't do much (I'm thinking this is because it was trying to talk to my K3 that didn't exist yet). If anyone wants to ship me theirs I'll try this out and report back! hi hi... Oh and PS: Is there anyone in the Oregon area thats gotten one of these gems and would be willing to show off? I am working on a Linux version of the K3 Utility. I have a little more polishing to do, but it should be ready for beta testers soon. I haven't tried the Windows version using Wine.
