Re: [Elecraft] USB to Serial adapter that works
I've been using the Dynex DX-UBD9 for a long time now. Works fine with my K3 and W2. I have used them with my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop and Acer netbook with no problems. I use 2 of them - first one I bought new at Best Buy for about $35 and the 2nd was refurbished for $9 on EBay. 73 Bill nz0t -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/USB-to-Serial-adapter-that-works-tp6506482p6564573.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Elecraft] USB to Serial adapter that works
I have been very happy with one of these that I purchased at full price years ago, so when I recently got a new computer I decided to get another one for much less used. On ebay I got it for $30 from an outfit called Nationwidesurplus. It did not come with drivers, and since I had a good experience with the manufacturer's support from years ago, I went to their web site. They had drivers for various models, but nothing matching my part number. I then called them up and was told that I had an OEM model and therefore they wouldn't talk to me. Then I went ahead and just connected it and let Win7 go look for a driver, and the driver was found immediately. Sure beats paying the same money to get only a single port that may or may not work. 73, Erik K7TV >I've got one too, from an eBay source, I forget where.
