Re: [Elecraft] Uses for Programmable Function Keys
I use PF1 for the SCANNOW macro, listed in the programmers reference manual. It immediately starts scanning between the frequencies displayed in VFOA and VFOB. Note that even though PF1 and PF2 are hold buttons, by holding them even a little longer than is necessary to activate them the hold is transferred to the underlying SCAN macro key command. So a regular hold on PF1 activates muted scanning (AF OFF) while a longer push on PF1 will scan with AF ON. I use PF2 to toggle CW QRQ. M1 tap and hold are for quick access to AGC Threshold and AGC Slope settings. M2 for speaker on/off toggle. This has to be the most popular macro. (Also have M2 Hold set for AF LIM, but I never use it.) 73, Drew AF2Z On Wed, 22 Jun 2011 19:51:27 -0400, you wrote: Hi Folks, Did a quick search for this, but didn't see anything. YEs, I'm tired of not 'getting' it first push - did you use a macro for that, I haven't figured out how to toggle vox from a PF key yet. Re: [Elecraft] Uses for Programmable Function Keys
I have M1-M4 programmed so that they do the same function for both TAP and HOLD. That capability really helps me for the several functions I use often. I knew when I ordered the K3 that I did not care for the alternate key operations but I did not realize that M1-M4 would be so useful to overcome the normal behaviour of other buttons. I never touch either the BAND or MODE buttons (since I use the key pad for band selection). Once I get the KPA-500 I will try to position it where I can use the BAND select buttons to simplify band selection even more.
