Depends on what you mean by "suitable".

I like Aether ( http://www.aetherlog.com ) because it's relatively  
simple and doesn't (yet) try to be an all-in-one package.

Not free (in any sense of the word), but affordable at US$39.

I use both MacLoggerDX and RUMLog.

There are advantages to both.

I especially like the way RUMLog includes more and more K3 integration.  The 
radio status screen is habit forming and being able to execute macros and 
access the K3's memory is very useful.

I also find RUMLog's integration with LoTW to be very well done.

Since DL2RUM (Tom) the author is a K3 user I expect even more integration as he 
finds time.

devices, which I'd like to see it do via Chens uRouter

RUMped, YaeLogger and SkookumLogger are written by hard core 
contesters/DXpeditioners.  

RUMped, RUMlog and SkookumLogger authors use the K3.  

RUMlog and RUMped don't use Cocoa, but (like the K3 Utility for the Mac) you 
probably won't find too many things that affect its operation (RUMped even uses 
AppleScript to get its waterfall display from cocoaModem).

(Personally, I use BBEdit for logging :-).

Actually, RUMlog does support microHAM "Keyers" via Chen's Router.
Tom is using a DigiKeyer II and K3 with RUMlog, uH Router and
cocoaModem during his current stay in Rwanda.

Tom was using RUMped, not RUMlog at 9X0TL.  And µH Router was never in the

The 9X0TL Quicktime link that I'd posted earlier today was an interesting 
software Rube Goldberg exercise by itself.  

The transmit RTTY tones (using the K3 FSK KY command, I believe) come from the 
K3's monitor.  The RTTY receive tones that you hear come from cocoaModem's 
Aural Monitor.  Tom uses a wideband waterfall to tune in his stations.  For 
aural monitoring, clicked signals in cocoaModem are filtered and converted to a 
single fixed RTTY tone pair, no matter where he'd clicked.  The video comes 
from the Quicktime screen capture function.

The "roger beep" that you hear occurs when the cocoaModem "click buffer" 
transitions from the "tape loop" to real time data (I turn it off myself, but 
Tom prefers it on).

Sometime within that Quicktime movie, Tom switched off the narrow filter in the 
cocoaModem aural monitor, and you can hear the entire cacophony of people 
calling him (thank goodness for sufficient dynamic range :-).  He turned the 
narrow aural filter back on and regained sanity before the end of the movie.

Tom has posted a picture of him in his Rwanda "shack" (K3, 600W amp, MacBook 
Pro, digiKeyer II) here:

My mistake.  What I saw looked like RUMlog.  My cursory evaluation a
couple months ago showed interoperability with RUMlog, uH Router,
cocoaModem and DK II.

On my Mac I virtualized an XP Pro machine just and only to use Ham
applications (such as Ham Radio Deluxe, K3 Utility UI-View and so on) that
