No internal antenna tuner because I can see no reason to "Tune" a length 
of coax that doesn't RX/TX along it's length. I either used resonant 
antennas or a tuner placed  at the antenna feedpoint. But, should you 
desire, that module is still available via Elecraft. No 100W module 
either.


It has had a couple of repairs by W8FGU for prior owners. Paperwork 
included. Works as designed by Team Elecraft.

You can not build this K2 today. Elecraft has discontinued many of the 
modules. If you could, it would set you back $2200.00+ USD.

and portable operation when the wife has other activities with her lady 
friends. if Ham Radio is the hobby that puts a smile on your face (and in 
your heart) there are “ways” to enjoy it.   If you give up this easily Ham 
Radio isn’t high on your list and I understand. I had radio before my wife came 
into the picture and she still complains about my wires in the back yard 
occasionally but I could complain about her buying scrap booking supplies but 
never using them or garage saleing buying more stuff that the grandkids don’t 
need or want . there are trade offs.  It has worked for 45 years. Just my 
not so humble opinion.

Greetings, y'all;

Sold my K2, so I've got some kits and projects that I never got around to
doing that I'd like to sell:

 

Both of these are still new, unbuilt, and untouched, and still in the boxes
I received them in:

KDSP2 Internal DSP Filer and Real-Time clock: $155.00.

KAT100-2 150 W External ATU for EC2 Mounting.  The manual says Revision C,
March 12, 2003, but the circuit board says Revision B, 2002.  I was going
to build a separate K2 amp with ATU.  $150.00.

 

This is built, but I didn't build it:

KPA100 - 100 Watt amplifier for K2 - I bought this off of the internet, and
never checked it out.  I don't know who built it, but his work looks good.
The manual says Revision A, but the circuit board is a Revision B, dated
2002.  Considering the un-tried circumstances, I'll sell it as-is for
$100.00.

 

Miscellaneous parts:

ETS2 EC2 Tilt Stand $12.00

EC2 Enclosure -  $50.00

 

All prices include shipping within the United States via flat-rate priority
mail.  I will consider shipping outside of the U.S., but I must add the

You are so right!! The problem is I have a K3/100 with a P3 and am now 
pursuing satellite. The K2 is my standby rig and I really love it. It is a 
great radio, even at 10W I have worked some good DX, and it is a beyond par CW 
radio, actually I think a bit more sensitive than my K3. 

I have been working on a project using the Arduino UNO for satellite 
and for that I need a couple of VHF/UHF radios. So, I decided I would make the 
sacrifice.

I received questions about my XV144 transverter.  My plan is to sell it with
the K2 for a bundle as long as there is interest. If the K2 sells
standalone, I will then sell the XV144, but not before. Asking $375 OBO
shipped in US.  Will supply 2 RG316/U teflon BNC IF cables and serial cable
and ~13 power cord.  This has the crystal oven it.  I will update this
thread with the results  either way.  Once the K2 is sold I am ready to
order a K3 :-).

Now that I have the K3 I am putting my K2 s/n 4554 for sale.

 

This is a fully equipped QRP model and includes SSB, 160 meter,
60M/Xvtr, noise blanker and DSP modules.  Total cost today for these
would be around $1200 in kit form.

 

I built the unit myself under the supervision of a 40 year veteran
aircraft electronics technician (Gene, W7AKA).   He proofed everything I
did.

 

At the time I bought it I was still a tech, so I used it only in receive
mode.  By the time I upgraded, I had access to another 100 watt rig and
I decided to go with the K3.  This unit has rarely been used to
transmit.

 

Everything works and meets factory specs.  There are a couple minor
paint scratches on the top cover.  

 

I will allow a three day right of return if not satisfied.  I only ask
that you pay for shipping both ways.  The unit is available for
inspection in Seattle, Washington.

 

I am looking to add the second receiver and a couple filters to my K3.

 

Price is negotiable.

Sorry to hear about that Bill.  I second the thought that not being able
to build a K2 does not mean you don't get the pleasure of operating a
K2.

I spent a couple of months building my K2.  I plan to spend many years
operating it.  If you skip the building phase and go straight to
operating you'll still get 90% of the enjoyment out of the rig.

Also, if your condition is intermittent (or even temporary) you might
get periods of relief when you could build.  That would be a great time
to do one of the options as they are smaller and take less time.

far.However, the time has come to stop and face the music. I am afraid I
am going to do some type of damage to the kit because of this problem.
Darn, just when I thought my health problems had gone away for awhile
and I thought I could finish the kit before they came back. Well, I
guess I lost this race. I am willing to sell the kit unfinished as is. I
have started to assemble the thyristor board and have been able to pass
all the tests but the 4.00 MHz test. Might just be the probe I
assembled. I have two damaged parts, that are being sent to me from
Elecraft. One is the  VFO knob and the other is a resistor network that
I had damaged. Included with the kit is the K2 and the sideband option.
I will consider all offers and will be happy to email out of the room if
you have any questions. Thanks.

Bill, that is no reason NOT to have a K2.  I have a condition that prevents me 
from building, but through the good offices of Alan - W1HYV, who is on this 
list, I have a K2 that Alan built for me.


Do I feel bad that I couldn't build it? Yes.  Do I feed bad that I had someone 
else build it because I couldn't? No.


There are LOTs of folks on the list and listed at the Elecraft site that will 
build the Elecraft kits for those that can't...and some of them don't charge, 
because they enjoy building and do a service for those that can not build.


I would hope that by now you've gotten email from builders who can helpand 
if you haven't, askyou will get your K2 built.
