Whatever AV program you use, doesn't mean you are not subject to a virus loaded by script via email or an infected web site. I do computer work as a part time effort and I spend a lot of time cleaning systems. Try downloading an additional program such as Malwarebytes to run a scan. You don't need to do more than do a trial version. Once loaded I usually uninstall and then download a new version once I get odd behavior on my PC. There are other programs to use. The key here is not to have a multitude of AV programs running at once or you will run into additional problems. I've been having the exact same problem here. It was suggested that my Anti-Virus software was causing the problem but even completely disabling AVG and turning off the firewall in Windows 7 Pro did not help so I'm in the same boat you are. Others appear to have no problem even using the same op system. My computer's processor is a 64 bit dual core AMD. My workaround has been to download the firmware using FTP and manually move all the files into the proper directory.
