Thanks, Don & Stephen - DOH! I write my own, but I want to take a look at HRD. Mike, That would be Ham Radio Deluxe - Simon Brown's (HB9DRV) gift to ham radio. Professionally written software available at no cost. 73, Don W3FPR Mike wrote: > I should probably know this, but what's HRD? > > 73, Mike NF4l > > __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] K3 - erratic keyer behavior serial related
Ham Radio Deluxe, written by Simon Brown- it's a combined rig control, logging and data mode program, extremely powerful. I don't use the rig control part but the other two features are both excellent. 73 Stephen G4SJP K3 #980 On 10/10/2009 14:29, "Mike" wrote: > > I should probably know this, but what's HRD? > > 73, Mike NF4l > __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Elecraft] K3 - erratic keyer behavior serial related
Hello Vic No, I have not, but I will take a look at it tomorrow. I have never looked at that HRD option before. Time for bed here! 73 Stephen G4SJP On 09/10/2009 21:02, "Vic K2VCO" wrote: > > Stephen Prior wrote: >> I'm getting a similar thing here. Re: [Elecraft] K3 - erratic keyer behavior serial related
I'm getting a similar thing here. I have no KRX3 and have HRD (latest version) communicating with the K3 at 38400 baud. If I send a series of dahs, every so often the dah becomes a dit. If I send a series of dits then that seems okay. The paddle is plugged directly into the K3 and there is no other software trying to talk to the K3 at the same time. The connection between the PC and the K3 is purely serial, no USB interface is involved. Latest K3 firmware too. I have not noticed this behaviour before. It is independent of both cw speed and rf output. If I close HRD the problem disappears. 73 Stephen G4SJP K3 #980 On 09/10/2009 17:09, "Wayne Burdick" wrote: > > Hi Nick, > > I still can't duplicate this. Re: [Elecraft] K3 - erratic keyer behavior serial related
Hi Nick, I still can't duplicate this. Please describe exactly how both the K3 and HRD are set up. In particular: Do you have a sub receiver, or at least have the aux DSP module installed? K3 MCU rev 3.41 allows applications to query the revision number of the aux DSP even if the KRX3 itself is not installed. If it were doing this repeatedly, there could be serial port delays.
