A common feature of these these possible scams is the poor fellow who's call they use never has an email address on QRZ.com, like this one. Certainly raises a yellow flag of caution for me. Hi Bill, What makes you think it's a scam? Reads OK, and there's nine days left to bid. Ad reads OK. If I was listing mine, I'd start the price very low also ... helps generate interest, and keeps the listing fee low. I once sold a Bird, offering it for $10 initially. 73! Definitely a scam. The big image embedded at the end of the description with the contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid is a dead giveaway. That sort of demand is against ebay rules. The scammers put those words in an image file so that automated processes don't see them. That way, the auction will stay up a little longer. That auction will disappear within a few hours but the scammer is hoping a bunch of gullible guys will come along and send him $2,500 each before ebay shuts it down. The account is probably legitimate but doesn't belong to the scammer. eBay removed the auction which was posted to try to get your money by bidding or sending money directly to someone. It was a item too good to be true (or too cheap to be true in this case). He never had a K line. These people place these kind of false auctions trying to catch those less informed. Always be alert for email and Internet scams.
