Re: [elrepo] Latest nvidia release [310.19] drops support for older 6xxx and 7xxx series cards

I've just built and released the 304xx legacy packages for both el5 and
el6 to their respective testing repositories (based on the 304.64
release). They should show up on the mirrors shortly.

I've not yet tested these packages. I would suggest that one uninstalls
kmod-nvidia and then installs kmod-nvidia-304xx. The corresponding X11
driver packages are named nvidia-x11-drv-304xx in line with previous
legacy releases.

Please test and let me know if you hit any issues. I'll try to test them
later today myself.

Thanks for all of the hard work. I've tested the packages on an el5 and
an el6 host. Seems to work fine.

Just a quick note to say kmod-nvidia-304xx and nvidia-x11-drv-304xx
legacy packages have now been released to the main repositories for both
el5 and el6.

These packages support 6xxx and 7xxx based graphics cards.

it'd be nice to review and include in elrepo...

Nux!,

Thanks for the work. I will try to look at the stuff as soon as I get
a chance. If it makes it more convenient for users to release them
from ELRepo, we could do that, but if you intend to keep them up to
date, it'd be best distributed from your repo ...

[elrepo] Announcement: EL5 Updated kmod-aacraid Release [Version 1.2.1-1]

2013-01-07 Thread Alan Bartlett
Announcing the release of updated kmod-aacraid packages into the EL5
elrepo repository:

http://elrepo.org/tiki/kmod-aacraid

This package has been rebuilt using the 1.2.1-29900 source tarball.

It provides the aacraid kernel module(s), version 1.2.1, for Dell
PERC2, 2/Si, 3/Si, 3/Di, Adaptec Advanced Raid Products, HP
NetRAID-4M, IBM ServeRAID ICP SCSI storage devices and is kABI
compatible with all kernels from 5.0 (kernel-2.6.18-8.el5) upwards.

It is built to depend upon the specific ABI provided by a range of
releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel and not on any one
specific build.

The following files are currently syncing to the mirrors:

x86
kmod-aacraid-1.2.1-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
kmod-aacraid-PAE-1.2.1-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
kmod-aacraid-xen-1.2.1-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm

x86_64
kmod-aacraid-1.2.1-1.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
kmod-aacraid-xen-1.2.1-1.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

SRPMS
aacraid-kmod-1.2.1-1.el5.elrepo.src.rpm

You may update your system by:

yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=elrepo update kmod-aacraid

Once the package has been updated, the system must be rebooted to make
use of newer driver.

Thank you,

The ELRepo Team.
