Bypass caps were used in an older version of 1089, and subsequently replaced
with LISNs in the current version.

I'm looking through Bellcore GR-1089 Issue 2 Revision 1 for details on the

I was under the impression that some of the measurements involved use of
 large
RF bypass caps to ground, and the interference currents through the
 capacitor
 were measured.
While I found spec limits and test setups for current probe-style
 measurements,
all the figures simply display a power input network marked 'LISN', which
 I

explicitly discusses the use of an RF bypass cap.

Could someone point me to the appropriate section?

RE: Bellcore GP-1089 emissions testing: LISN test setup

2000-06-15 Thread efo

Hi Patrick,
The old GR-1089-CORE Bellcore Standard Issue 1, Nov.1994 required the large
10uF caps.
The new standard does not require the caps.

I seem to remember the caps were specified in an earlier version of the

understanding is that the LISN is that used for CISPR measurements.

Hello Richard,

The official EU version (in .pdf format) was mounted on the net only this
morning.

Visit the Safety Link www.safetylink.com, drop down to the Safety
Articles, FAQs, MRAs, Etc. subsection; look for WEEE towards the end of
the section.

Or, once you enter the Safety Link, use your browser's Find or Search
function to locate the term WEEE.

SAE testing

2000-06-15 Thread Binnom, Cyril A

Group,

I have an In-Vehicle Computer (ITE equipment) that will be implemented into
heavy duty trucks. I am unfamiliar with SAE requirements and only have been
told that I will have to be compliant to J1455. I am looking for some
clarification on if this is the correct standard, (if it is not then what
is) and if this is a compliance issue that has to be addressed or if testing
is a matter of choice.

Thank you in advance for your help

Probe ground leads

2000-06-15 Thread Douglas C. Smith

Hi All,

Here is some light reading if you are looking for a way to
pass a hot day (it is 109 degrees here in Los Gatos today!)

Often, a probe ground lead is thought of as a source of
error in a measurement. But, the ground lead can also
increase measurement accuracy.

I have posted a supplemental Technical Tidbit for June at
www.dsmith.org on probe ground leads. It located at the
bottom of the index page just below the main Technical
Tidbit for June on 180 degree combiners.
