Re: [PSES] Pi facts

2016-07-05 Thread Doug Powell
Doug,Pi is indeed an interesting topic. Your email reminded me of a college professor who was trying to make math more interesting for the undergrads and started the class one day by exclaiming "E is a beautiful number!". He proceeded to describe many places where Euler's Identity ‎and Euler's number (2.71828...) is found in science, math and nature. Of course Pi came into the picture as well. This kind of mathematical play is much like the old Scientific American column Martin Gardener authored years ago and his book Mathematical Circus‎, entertaining stuff.Best,  DougDouglas E Powelldoug...@gmail.com ‎https://www.linkedin.com/in/dougp01 ‎ From: Doug SmithSent: Tuesday, July 5, 2016 12:15 PMTo: EMC-PSTC@LISTSERV.IEEE.ORGReply To: d...@emcesd.comSubject: [PSES] Pi facts

Hi All,

Pi is a very important constant to EEs. But we rarely have fun with it. So
here is a way to enjoy Pi!

My oldest son, a new CS graduate, just posted a free app for iOS called
"Birthday Pi." It has lots of interesting facts about Pi (like the sum of the
first 144 digits is 666) and also will tell you what digit of pi your birthday
(or any date) starts on. For instance, for a person born today, the birthdate
starts at the 11679th digit of Pi and my birthday starts at the about the
25,000th digit of Pi. It is a fun app to play with.

Search for "Birthday Pi" by David Smith on the iOS store. His resume is also
ready for those who need a CS major. Contact me privately and I will put you in
contact with him if you would like his resume, which for his young age is pretty
impressive!

Re: [PSES] EMC Compliance for various countries

2016-07-05 Thread Ravinder Ajmani
Hi Rodney,

I am sorry I should have made it clear in my first post. The equipment is ITE,
and our current process covers all the countries listed in my initial post. I
would like to kow if we cover the requirements of other countries, except for
the report requirements.

Thanks.

Regards,

Ravinder Ajmani

It would depend on the type / category of the equipment. Australia and New
Zealand will likely require in country representation and listing on the
national database but the first question is it radio, telecom,ITE??
