The same is true for Canada. You can check the scope of accreditation for an
organization by looking them up on the SCC website:
https://www.scc.ca/en/accreditation/programs/product-process-and-service-certification/directory

If you’re looking for the accreditation scope for an Inspection Body, you can
find that here:

Re: [PSES] RED: Legal requirement to use LVD or EMCD Harmonized Standards

Paul / All

Just to clarify - the RED requires a Risk Assessment for all products, whether
HS are used or not.
It's just that where they have not been used, manufacturers should be prepared
for greater scrutiny

There's no legal requirement to apply Harmonised Standards from the LVD and
EMCD under RED (or under LVD or EMCD for that matter)

However, I've recently been told that where HS from these Directives have not
been applied, market surveillance/enforcement would want to see that the
manufacturer had documented a proper Risk Assessment in arriving at the
standards chosen. This would be relevant where, for example, a manufacturer was
continuing to apply EN 60950-1 and not EN 62368-1: 2014

For EMC, it's useful to review guidance in EN 303 446-1 V1.2.1 and EN 303 446-2
V1.2.1 for application of EMC standards to radio and non-radio function of the
product

Canada, the list of accredited Certification Bodies can be found at

You have to check whether your product or the applicable safety standard is in

[PSES] ECE R10 - Addendum 9 - rev. 6 / Applicability of this regulation for ESA type of equipment with a particular 'interface type"

2021-02-16 Thread bart . de . geeter
Dear All,

In this regulation there is a flowchart under section 3.2.1 which helps you to
determine whether this regulation is applicable for testing for
Electrical/electronic sub assembly products (ESAs)

At a certain moment the following question appears in this flowchart:
"Connected via an interface type approved to this regulation as amended?". Is
there somebody that knows how I should interpret this question? Where can I
find the 'approved interface types as amended?"

If the product to be tested is connected only to the standard cigar lighter
(for 12V supply). Is this interface an interface which is approved as amended??

Thanks in advance for any advice related to this topic.

Greetings,
Bart
