Re: [Emc-users] Axis question
Jon Elson wrote: [big snip] Yeah, this has been a traditional problem with EMC. Forever. In the middle of a program, you can pause and then continue. But, there really is no provision to pause, make a manual move, and then continue with the program seamlessly. I think you can't alter offsets, either, while paused, but maybe you can. After making any manual moves, you have to know the G-code block to restart from, search for that line in the G-code display window and click the start from line button in the menu. Note that with AXIS, you can click on a line segment in the preview pane, and this will select the line of G-code responsible for that move. Since you can manipulate the preview any time, and you can see where the tool is in the preview, this is an easy way to get to the correct place for a restart. EMC2 does scan the entire program to make sure it is in the right mode for the line it will start from, except it won't start the spindle, so you need a manual override. There's a new ini option that will leave the spindle running between mode changes. This allows you to set the spindle turning manually and then restart the program. - Steve - This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
