 I used a poor bleeding edge Intel driver that crash very often (most
 of the time in the shader path). Something really annoying when you
 miss this nice white box and something that make me wonder how people

But anyhow, everyone, report your issues, e will be released soon, and 
the whitebox is one of those features that are good to have, but you 
don't want the users to use or learn to appreciate.

I have not tried it in months, since it just got too annoying, but
whenever running any E17 module that accessed the 'net, I would get a
crash every time it tried when my 'net was down.

Does the box just not show up at all for you ? Some more details about

I get the white death box if I select "Take Screenshot" from the main menu. (On 
OSX)
