Having the updater available appears to only provide a link to the download
site. Shouldn't it update silently?

If this is how it is to work, then I misunderstood its purpose.

[Mozilla Enterprise] ESR 60 Updates

2018-10-04 Thread Warren Sanders
I have tested unconfiguring and disabled the Disable Update GP setting, and
until this latest 60.2.2 version, I assumed that it would work. Looking at
the about Firefox showing that it was checking.

Yesterday I started to get a notification that the new update had to be
downloaded. About Firefox says Updates available at
https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/.

Prior to this, I have always rolled out fresh installs. I was under the
impression that this should run incremental updates as others do such as
Chrome. I can't have non-admin users downloading this and having undetected
profile-installed Firefox (RR) and an outdated ESR on the same machine!

Is there a way to debug this or do I have the wrong impression of what the
update process is to be? I've tested a clean installation directory and
fresh profile.

Thank you,

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] Window positioning bug in ESR 52.x under MS Windows

2017-09-18 Thread Warren Sanders
I think I have a similar issue; a me too perhaps. I hadn't looked into it
much at all because I had mucked around with various about:config
settings.

My scenario is this: I always open FF ESR on my second monitor in maximized
not full screen. Every new window opened goes to the first primary screen.

I'm using Firefox 52.3.0

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] Super slow pages after update from 45.9->52.1 ESR

2017-05-04 Thread Warren Sanders
I never thought much about it, but, I've noticed a random freeze up a
couple times a day that lasts about 30 seconds or so. I'm currently using
ESR 45.8.0, so I don't think it's anything new that just showed up in 52x.
On the other had, I haven't tested any of the ESR 52 branch so what I'm
noticing may be a different issue.

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] Manage Firefox Add-in's to activate select upon deployment

2017-03-28 Thread Warren Sanders
We do this similarly vi CCK2. I have it load this via whitelist.txt file:

Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/Services.jsm");
try{
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http://domain.com;, null, null),
"popup", 1);
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http:// domain.com", null, null),
"plugin:java", 1);
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http:// domain.com", null, null),
"plugin-vulnerable:java", 1);
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http:// domain.com", null, null),
"plugin:npdeployJava1", 1);
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http:// domain.com", null, null),
"plugin-vulnerable:npdeployJava1", 1);
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http:// domain.com", null, null),
"plugin:flash", 1);
Services.perms.add(Services.io.newURI("http:// domain.com", null, null),
"plugin-vulnerable:flash", 1);
}
catch(e){
}

This is loaded from the *AutoConfig Only* section in the *After CCK2*
field. I'm not keen on why the first one has no space between the http://
where the others do. I hope it's a correct example I found, but it works!

Re: [Mozilla Enterprise] distributed automatically WNA settings enabling

2017-03-06 Thread Warren Sanders
I might be misunderstanding the question, but hope this helps. I use a
couple preferences that assist with using the users login to authenticate
on the sites. If it's not working, it prompts the user to authenticate.
Some of these might not be required possibly depending on how the page is
coded:

   - *network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris *using a value such as:
   .host.domain.ads,.domain.com
   - *network.negotiate-auth.delegation-uris *using the value: https://
   (not sure this pref is part of this stuff)
   - *network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris *value used: .domain.com
