Re: [EVDL] Clutch Actuator

2018-02-26 Thread Bruce Lawton via EV
One consideration with a clutch is that you can easily overspeed the electric
motor when downshifting if you miss a gear or aren’t paying attention. Relying
on the synchros protects you somewhat in that case.

[EVDL] (no subject)

2016-08-28 Thread Bruce Lawton via EV
OK, Cor's right. So let's let this thread end now. It has very little to do
with EVs, other than being a potential contributor to the overall power supply.

Thanks!

Re: [EVDL] EV-Spotting in London

2016-05-18 Thread Bruce Lawton via EV
Yes, London England. Well, I thought the price alone would steer drivers toward
EVs, even if eco concerns did not.

Today I saw more rooftop solar around Bristol than I've seen in all of VA, NJ,
AZ and Bahamas combined. Maybe electricity is very pricey.

[EVDL] EV-Spotting in London

2016-05-17 Thread Bruce Lawton via EV
I'm in London this week and surprised at the lack of EVs. I see more on my
northern Virginia commute than I've seen all week here. Gas is £1.22/liter
($6.14/gal), which of course is much more than home.

Why so few EVs here?

Re: [EVDL] Battery size for a 40 ton 18 wheel truck with a 200+ mile range

You might want to compare notes with Steve Clunn. He just converted a semi last
year and probably has real world numbers you could consider.
