[Evolution] Spell checker is blind...
Hi All, I have the spell checker working fine on my Evolution on my Home box. Now I want the spell checker to work on my notebook too, but it seems to be blind. I can type the most awfull spelling mistakes and then run a spell check. The spell checker reports that everthing is fine. I can even write a mail in Afrikaans and the spell checker is quite happy with my spelling. If I did this on my home machine, about the whole mail is underlined in red. Re: [Evolution] getting netscape to launch an evolution composewindow
That doesn't really work in Netscape or Mozilla directly as they have a built in mail client and expect you to use it. However, there is a ProtoZilla project that lets you edit things like that fairly nicely. See the archives from November or possibly even October on this list as there was a discussion about it. It's definitely not for the faint of heart but it's been working fine for me. Anywhere you can set the Mailto: handler, you can make Evolution work as the URL handler. i.e. it works in galeon if you set the handler in the control center. If Netscape permits you to set that, it will be somewhere in the NEtscape preferences dialogs. You'd set the handler to be: evolution '%s' Yours, Aaron Weber Ximian, Inc. Hello, This has been bugging me a fair bit. I downloaded Ximian desktop the other day and find it pretty good. When using red carpet, I try to get Ximian evolution, and it tells me I have a failed dependency - libpisock.so.3. So, what I usually do is I goto rpmfind.net and get my required package. But this package is already installed. I then decided to have a look around in the /usr/lib directory and found I do have the lib there: libpisock.so.3 (which is a symlink to libpisock.so.3.0.1). Why is rpm saying I don't have libpisock.so.3 when it's in my libs, and the package that it is included with is already installed too? Is this a problem with Evolution, or a prob with my system? If anyone would be so kind as to explain how and why this problem occured. There isn't a lot of literature on the web related to resolving dependencies like this. I could force --nodeps, but I'd rather keep the db in order. Regards, Michael P.S. i know of others who have had the same problem as me. we're both using Redhat 7.1. ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
[Evolution] One possible fix for evolution-mail not working
I've seen posts over the last several weeks complaining that for various reasons, evolution-mail has not been working, usually resulting in a "Configuration Database not found" error. For me, Evolution would start, but clicking on the Inbox icon in the shortcut bar didn't do anything. Some people have said that it works as root, but not as a regular user. I also saw this. What happened to me was that the evolution RPM file (for RedHat 7.2 anyway - not sure about other distros) isn't explicitly setting permissions on /usr/lib/evolution/camel-providers/1.0, so this directory was being created as drwx-- on my system. Changing the permissions on this directory to drwxr-xr-x (and the usual killev ; oaf-slay bit) fixed it for me. Hope this helps somebody out there. -- Dave Allen [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
