Re: [Evolution] JPEGs from a Mac OS X

2002-11-11 Thread Stefan Schustereit
It comes in and I can't do ANYthing with it. I see the attachment. I
cannot view it in The GIMP, Electric Eyes... nothing.

Can you figure out, which mail program your dad is using? You should see
an entry in the mail header of his mail.

I have a Mac and if you like, I can send a JPEG image to your mailbox. I
just sent a mail using Apple Mail 1.2 (for Mac OS X (Jaguar)) to my
Evolution 1.1.2 (SuSE 7.3) and it worked fine - without any problems.

It's not specifically a Linux thing. It probably came from Winblows,

The Linux GUI makers took it from WinDOS, but the Windows folks took
from the Mac (Command-W). OK, now it's going really off topic ;-)

Re: [Evolution] Spam Filter

Does anyone have an relatively effective set of filter rules to reduce
 spam with Evolution?

This works perfectly for me:

If recipients do not contain my mail address move to folder SPAM.
Stop processing

If you are subscribed to some mailing lists, you will find these
messages in the Spam folder, too. So you have to create another set of
filters for these lists.

Re: [Evolution] will there be a Windows port?

IMHO the most important point is that Ximian is a Unix company, and
there aren't any resources left for Windows programming. If Ximian works
on a Windows port of Evolution, there will be no new features in the
Unix version for a long time.

Evolution is made for Unix systems, and that's it. I also fear that most
people in the Windows world don't know anything about Evolution or
Ximian. So the market for WinEvo is too small - people wan't to use
Outlook (they all got it when buying the MS Office suite), and nobody
wants to change. It's a waste of time.

[Evolution] E 1.0.1, Red-Carpet SuSE 7.2

2002-01-21 Thread Stefan Schustereit

I'am using SuSE 7.2 with KDE (will switch back to Gnome soon) and
Evolution 1.0. It's not possible to change to the new version of E,
because there is libiconv.so.2 missing.

 Red-Carpet output:
Package gtkhtml needs package libiconv.so.2 which cannot be found.
Package libgtkhtml20 needs package libiconv.so.2 which cannot be found.
Package evolution needs package libiconv.so.2 which cannot be found.
Package libgal19 needs package libiconv.so.2 which cannot be found.

There were one or two questions about this issue in the last days, but
none was answered (or did I miss the answers?). Is there already any
solution? Any hints?

[Evolution] Are the filters really working right?

2001-11-21 Thread Stefan Schustereit

If more than one filter rule matches to a mail, they are all applied to
this mail.

Here is an example: messages going to the evolution mailing list
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) are automatically moved to my 'Evolution' folder,
but they are also moved to my 'Spam' folder, as I have created a rule
for all messages that aren't directly addressed to my email address.

At least Evolution copies incoming mail to my folders - is this a
intended behaviour?
