[Evolution] Mass import of caldav calendars
Morning all hope everyone is good, Is it possible to import all the calendars from a server using caldav? I can add one at a time and it finds the calendar on the server and can add this one at a time which is great, But is it possible to add all the calendar entrys from the server at once? (If that makes sense?) I have had a quick look around the mailing list (reading thorough 2013 now) and install/FAQ So sorry if this is a common question with a quick answer ive missed! Re: [Evolution] line wrap in html preview
I used Evolution version 3.12.3 on a 64-bit Arch Linux distro. I have the same problem. I did my best to find a solution on Google, and good descriptions are around as early as 2008: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1766170 In that post title, it has the word solved, except that it is not, it is the same. Let me give me my own example. I get a message from somebody, and from the headers of that message, it is formatted in text mode: Accept-Language: en-US, en-GB Content-Language: en-US X-MS-Has-Attach: X-MS-TNEF-Correlator: acceptlanguage: en-US, en-GB Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii When I reply to this, a reply compose window opens, but the quoted text of the sender now does not line wrap and goes on far beyond the right border. It happens no matter whether I compose my messages in plain text or HTML mode (as I tried by switching in the preferences dialog). This problem happens frequently to me, so I assume it happens to many users as well. It really breaks my flow of working considerably, and really makes me consider an alternative solution (but I think evolution is otherwise really good). Thanks for suggestions/solutions!!! -- View this message in context: http://gnome-evolution-general.1774414.n4.nabble.com/line-wrap-in-html-preview-tp4658062p4659400.html Sent from the Gnome Evolution - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
[Evolution] Editing a contact closes Evolution
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Evolution 3.2.3 When I try to edit an email address in an existing contact, After hitting close, Evolution goes dark and shuts down. When I reopen Evolution to the contact I tried to edit, the only change is to 'FILE AS', It puts last name first, first name last, but did not make the editing changes to the email address I attempted. Re: [Evolution] Evolution 3.13.3
I too am using 3.13.3 under Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit running on a DELL Vostro 3500 with 8 GB ram. Only problems so far is that sending HTML e-mails of several paragraphs sometimes results in slow send with excessive CPU usage (Intel i5 with 4 CPUs). One annoying feature is the spell check. Right clicking the misspelled word often will not bring up the correct spelling, and there seems no way to add words to the dictionary. [Evolution] Evolution reminders stopped showing up before appointment.
For last 3-4 months Evolution stopped showing up customized reminders the way I used to have them for 7 years. E.g. a reminder is set to be shown up 2 days before start of the appointment and to be repeated 6 times every 8 hours. No single reminder pops up out of all requested before the appointment. Instead all 6 reminders show up at the actual day of the appointment as soon as a system started. I experience the same behaviour in Debian Wheezy - Evolution v. 3.4.4, in Ubuntu 14.04 and Xubuntu 14.04 - Evolution v. 3.10.4. The problem is very frustrating and forces me to look for Evolution replacement. The last is the most hated idea, since I like Evolution and get used to it. Besides the nightmare of migrating of all my personal data to a new PIM. I kept googling practically in vain all this time, asked on Debian list with a complete silence in response. Any idea anyone, please? ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Thanks for your detailed steps, Emilio. Although you should have mentioned what happened. I will assume that you got an empty search result. I suspect the problem is at Exchange side. I think that evolution will just ask Exchange for messages with a in the body and that your Exchange is returning no answers. Most indexing engines have a minimum search length (eg. index only words of three letters or more) in order not to fill their index with lots of uninteresting stuff. Exchange is likely to have that, too. (Maybe there's also a configuration option to change that value) Does your search work if you use a longer word?
