Re: [Evolution] Google and EWS connector auth pia

2021-08-26 Thread Michael Piko
Thank you Pete. I'll review the link again however I believe I have
looked at it before.

I'm sure the token is being regenerated - as it should - and evolution
should deal with that without additional user intervention just as
other product do.

Interestingly, some of the time I am asked to provide a password and
others I am asked only to click allow.

I'll try to find some log info next time it happens.

What about unchecking the "Wants to receive HTML mail" check box for

[Evolution] Send messages as plain text to select recipients

2021-08-26 Thread Vincent Hennebert via evolution-list
Evolution 3.40.4.

I’ve just sent a message in HTML by mistake to this list because I set
up my preferences to format messages in HTML by default, and forgot to
revert to Plain Text before sending.

To avoid any such mistake in the future I’d like set an override for
select recipients, but I haven’t found any way to do that. Is that
possible?

Thanks,
Vincent

Hoping to elicit an answer to this request, I followed the

I obfuscated some data that I was not sure if it was sensitive. Happy
to share off-list if necessary.

Does that shed any light on what the issue might be?

I am able to successfully go through the MFA using DavMail with the
same account, so the problem seems to be on Evolution’s side. But I’m
having plenty of other issues with DavMail so I’d really rather get
back to EWS if I can.

Thanks,
Vincent

If it is authenticating correctly and you can retrieve mail, then there
is fundamentally nothing wrong with the process.

Once an OAuth2 token is given to an application, then the lifetime of
that token is determined by the server. Is it possible that some
server configuration is restricting the lifetime?

There's also a wiki page on EWS OAuth2

 https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Evolution/EWS/OAuth2

this has some debugging info at the bottom. It may be worth using that
to see if there are any obvious places where OAuth2 is having problems
such as when it tries to store the token.

Evolution works fine with Office365 & MFA. There's even a Wiki page
about it.

  https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Evolution/EWS/OAuth2

although this goes into a lot of detail, my experience is that it just
works if you configure Evolution to use Office365 OAuth2. However,
this may be dependent on which version of Evolution you use, so if you
need help you must include that information.
