I just happen to be looking around and noticed on a FRESH install of Evoluton that I am just now setting up the SHOW mode at the top left corner of the screen got switched to UNREAD instead of ALL MESSAGES. I don't know if that is now the default view for Evolution or what But I changed it and now I can see everything again. But I still cant figure out why the text keeps falling off to the next line, like in the screenshot from my first email. The text looks fine if you go to the sent folder and read the email in question Is there a fix for this? So where in the world are these opened emails dissapearing to? Chris And PS what is up with composing an email? I have no trouble at all. Maybe you should switch from POP3 to IMAP4? On יום ב׳, 2021-09-13 at 15:21 +0200, Louis van Dyk wrote: > Hi > > As of today, connections to GMAIL are timing out. Hi, no, works fine here. What is the exact error, please? Anything like "Timeout was reached"? If so, it can be the goa-daemon process is stuck on something or it fails to restart or any other thing around the D-Bus dependencies, maybe gnome-keyring-daemon, who knows... Try to close/kill the goa-daemon process, or just restart it from the terminal: $ /usr/libexec/goa-daemon --replace then restart the evolution process: $ evolution --force-shutdown and then start the evolution. If it'll not help, I'd try the gnome-keyring-daemon, just in case. These can be the two most likely related. You face a libsecret bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsecret/-/issues/62 which is, sadly, not fixed even after 5 months being reported. You can try to use older version of the GNOME Platform SDK, but I do not know which it is. When you look into the Flatpak manifest, change this: "runtime-version": "3.38", to some other version. You can try for example the 3.36 version, but be aware it's not supported anymore, contains outdated software and can cause trouble. You should have the corresponding version installed too. An alternative option can be to build certain version of the libsecret somewhere at the top of the Flatpak manifest. Again, I do not know which version of it it is, I'm sorry. Note also that as messages can have multiple labels in Gmail, IMAP will show these as multiple copies in different folders, some of which may be subscribed and some not. This doesn't seem to cause any issues as far as I can tell. poc ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Could there be another option > interfering with that one? > I suspect it's some oddity with Gmail. The IMAP folder subscription list is kept on the server not locally (although there is probably a cache of the list locally). Gmail is not really designed for use with IMAP, hence Google's implementation seems to be a series of workarounds to try and make it look like it works. Specifically, in Gmail the concept of a "folder" doesn't exist, but they use "labels" as an analogue of folders. This largely works. However, sometimes the interaction between "folders" and "labels" can be a bit odd. Sometimes the Gmail version of folders doesn't work like folders in other IMAP implementations. So, you need to go into Gmail settings on the web (not the Evolution one) and select "Labels" (Cog -> All Settings -> Labels). In there you will see a setting against each label name of "Show in IMAP". Enable/Disable as desired.
