that one I'm still not able to reproduce and I'm dependent on folks
whom are able to reproduce to give me some hints. That had been filled
downstream in Fedora bugzilla first, as:

I'm not able to provide test packages for other than Fedora, I'm sorry.

GNOME has filled this one, which I believe is the same thing as the
downstream bug report, only slightly different steps:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=782096

It would be appreciated if you could join either of the bug reports and
help with the investigation. I can attach debug patches instead of
providing debug builds, if you can build evolution-data-server and
evolution (and eventually evolution-ews, if you face it with an EWS
account).

Just to check (since I think it's a language problem) do you mean the
unread count in parentheses next to the folder name?

If you do, then I know there were issues with such things a long long
time ago, but they must surely have been fixed and I haven't seen
anyone mention it recently.

Does the count go up and down when you read/unread messages?

Does the count accurately reflect the number of unread messages if you
just select unread messages in the dropdown at the top?

Does it help 'refreshing' the folder?

Ultimately I suppose you can clear the cached information and let
Evolution resync completely - but if you have large accounts, that can
take quite a while.

Yes, with the latest libsoup and rebuilt packages of Evolution, the Arch 
packages seem to be working again now.. :)
The only problem still, is the number of unread behind the folder names not 
getting updated...

libsoup had been patched. The 2.58.1 has reverted offending commit
which "broke evolution-ews" in 2.58.0.

The other issue about missing symbol from libsoup in webkitgtk+ looks
like a packaging issue, though rather installed version mismatch to me.
It was most likely caused by the downgrade of libsoup to 2.56.0, before
the 2.58.1 release happened (there was no other option before 2.58.1
release, except of patching 2.58.0 manually, but in that time it was
unknown what exactly broke evolution-ews).

That said, it's likely that updating libsoup to the latest upstream
release, which is 2.58.1, would fix all the issues Arch users reported
here in the two/three recent threads including this one. More info
about missing libsoup symbol in webkitgtk+ in the other thread.

I suggest you ask on an Arch list. I've no idea what "HoldPkg" means
and doubt it has anything to do with Evolution.

yes, I said so, the offending commit had been reverted upstream.
libsoup 2.58.1 had been released only yesterday.

You may wait for your distribution libsoup maintainer to update it. If
your 2.58.01 actually means 2.58.1, then you possibly face a different
problem than the one about "Cancelled" reports in evolution UI about
EWS calendars/books/

That libsoup change doesn't have anything to do with the error reported
in this thread, that's solely on the evolution-data-server side, or the
build system. I cannot tell for sure, because you didn't give more
clues I asked for.

that's not fair. It was a problem in libsoup and that change had been
reverted in the upstream. The only problem was that it got to stable
release unnoticed. But apart of "being able to reproduce in evolution(-
ews)", there was really nothing wrong on the Evolution side.

It looks like evolution-ews installation or the source file itself got
broken for whatever reason. Try to run evolution from a terminal,
eventually evolution-calendar-factory, to see whether it says anything
related.

You can also search for the source file, it'll be named as in the error
message plus ".source" extension, thus in your case
"1492881450.6684.6@xps13.source" in one of:
   ~/.cache/evolution/sources/
   ~/.config/evolution/sources/
and look into its content. It is supposed to contain at least these
sections:

   [Data Source]
   DisplayName=Calendar
   Enabled=true
   Parent=xxx

   [Calendar]
   BackendName=ews
   Color=#becedd
   Selected=true

   [Exchange Web Services Folder]
   ChangeKey=xxx
   Id=xxx
   Foreign=false
   ForeignSubfolders=false
   Public=false

where those 'xxx' are different for your calendar, similarly the Color
key. The most important is the BackendName, which should reference
"ews".

My god, nothing but endless problems with Evolution since updating to
Gnome 3.24. Downloaded libsoup last night to avoid the constant
annoyance of the issue with EWS Contacts. Then today, EWS calendar
stopped working. 

Unable to connect to “Calendar”: Backend factory for source “1492881450
.6684.6@xps13” and extension “Calendar” cannot be found.

Nothing but problem after problem.
