$$Excel-Macros$$ Exit Sub if no match

2011-05-24 Thread Bob
If there is no match, I'd like to enter my own value. Just can not
figure out how to write code! As the code stands now it will not allow
me to enter my own value, returns the #N/A error and each time I try
and change this it fires the code again and return the error again. I
need something like... If A3 = #N/A then Exit Sub Else run code?
Thanks in advance!!!
'Worksheets(Worksheet2).Range(B3).Formula =
=if(A3=,,index('Customer Record'!B:B,match(A3,'Customer
Record'!A:A,0),1))
'Worksheets(Worksheet2).Range(B3,
Range(A65536).End(xlUp).Offset(1, 1)).FillDown

$$Excel-Macros$$ Urgent:: Is there a way out to increase the cell limit to beyond 255.

2011-05-24 Thread Bharghav Ramdas
Hi All,

I am currently working on an excel (2003)sheet whose cell character length
is beyond 255. I am able to copy just 255 characters. The remaining
characters get truncated.Your help in this regard will be very much
appreciated.

Example
cell character length =300.
While pasting or doing any cell operations, I see only the first 255
characters considered.

Bharghav R

$$Excel-Macros$$ Repost: Excel initiating export from Crystal report

2011-05-24 Thread Hall
I know how to export a Crystal report to Excel from the Crystal
Viewer.

Is it possible to initiate that from an Excel file? That is, given a
Crystal report, can Excel run a VB script or some other function to
export the data from the Crystal report without me using the Viewer at
all?

I'm not a user of Crystal other than using the Viewer but I do know
Excel very well.

Thanks so much!

Try this...with a command button, Change your range as needed, this
one is A2:B1
Private Sub CommandButton2_Click()
  ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets(Your Worksheet
Name).Sort.SortFields.Clear
ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets(Your Worksheet
Name).Sort.SortFields.Add Key _
:=Range(A2), SortOn:=xlSortOnValues, Order:=xlAscending,
DataOption:= _
xlSortNormal
With ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets(Your Worksheet Name).Sort
.SetRange Range(A2:B1)
.Header = xlNo
.MatchCase = False
.Orientation = xlTopToBottom
.SortMethod = xlPinYin
.Apply
End With
End Sub

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Macro to Enter Current Time and Date

2011-05-24 Thread Bob
Not sure if this will help but here a 2 different ways. Both will keep
date from changing the next day.
You can create a circular referance with this formula
=IF(B3=,,IF(C3=,NOW(),C3))
Or this will put the date in Column C using a macro
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Count 1 Then Exit Sub
If Target.Row = 1 Then Exit Sub
 If Target.Column = 1 And Target.Column = 2 Then
   If Application.CountA(Cells(Target.Row, 1).Resize(, 2)) = 2 _
 And IsEmpty(Cells(Target.Row, 3)) Then
   Cells(Target.Row, 3).Value = Date
   End If
 End If
End Sub
